I could feel my heart racing. I watched as Ben held on and he waved his other arm around. I saw him fall and I could never forget his face. His arms were all over the place. I could see the horrified look in his eyes. I even watched as the flying lizard took off after him.
My vision started going out a little. I stepped back and placed one of my hands on the seat beside me to keep me up right. My mind was racing with thoughts. I wish I could unsee his face. It might have even reflected my own. The one thought in my mind was "Why?... Why?... Why?... Why didn't I move and help?"
I couldn't stand any longer and fell to the floor below me. The water works came out. I could feel my tears fall onto my legs. The others also started to realize what was going on. The realization that our friend Ben was gone.
Darius started to mumble to himself. Then he shouted "The monorail going back!" I looked at him and tried to stay focused on him and get myself to stop crying. Darius went to the front desk. I forced myself to get up and stop from crying any longer. Brook rushed to the other side looking out the broken glass. "The track dips down up ahead! We can jump there!" There were protests. "No, she's right, we'll live as long as we don't hit a branch too hard and break a bone."
I got stared at. "Ignore the last part but we have to jump! This thing won't stop, it's the only way out unless we wait for it to stop and we're too late!" All the others came up from behind me. Darius started to count when we would jump. Now we were all flying through the sky slowly declining.
We tumbled out of the trees and started to roll down a hill till we either crashed or ran into something else. We all crawled out of our crashing places. Bumpy. "Where's Bumpy?" Kenji started. "I lost her when I hit the ground. She's gotta be here." He started yelling her name loudly.
"There are still dinosaurs out here including Toro and–" Kenji wasn't listening to Brook. Kenji continued to call for Bumpy. I was conflicted. I love bumpy and all but she can live in the wild. I need to get home, I don't belong here. I really didn't know anymore. The alarm went off again with more bad news. "Last ferry departs in 60 minutes."
"No chance we could get there in an hour! Its way too far!" Yas shouted. All of us didn't know what to do. Brook had snapped "We cant go back for Ben. He's" she wouldn't finish.
"We can make it to the ferry, but only if we go now." Darius said. The voice then repeated "Last ferry departs in 60 minutes." Darius turned and looked at us "We have to go!" Once it was said he turned around and ran back into the more dense part of the place. The next thing we did was follow after. I was last to go as I waited on Kenji.
We just kept going and there was no time for stopping. We stopped and turned to see Yas on the ground. Brook yelled out "Guys!" to get them to stop. Us girls ran to her and she was not happy about Sammy attempting to help her. "How are you even walking?" Sammy asked, "I'm highly motivated." Yas said and tried to get up but once she tried to move forward she was back on the ground.
"She can't keep up like this. What do we do?" Sammy asked. Of course she turned to Darius we all did. He was 100% panicking "We can't stop, so, well make a stretcher, maybe? Or maybe there's a shortcut or" He was just shouting out ideas while pacing back and forth. Darius' face lit up. "The tunnels! Kenji!" Kenji was staring at Ben's fanny pack. Darius went over and shuck him to regain his hearing. "Kenji! The maintenance tunnels. There has to be one that leads to the docks, right?"
Kenji was just staring at Darius; he looked like he wasn't exactly in the right mind set. He did take us to a tunnel opening. We all were at the bottom of the ladder now. "This'll get us to the dock in half the time." He seemed pretty confident compared to earlier. Now we were all following behind him. I hope he knows where he's going.
