When we got to Juliens place, her girlfriend, Maya let us in, she was holding beans in one of her arms and she hugged Julien with the other.
She had light olive skin and her dark hair was tied up into a two space buns with bows. She was wearing a white, flowery dress and a folklore cardigan, her and Julien were complete opposites but just fit together so well. That's why we were upset when she said she could only come for half the tour due to work and her agreeing she wanted to stay and look after beans for a while.
Maya actually went to high school with me and Lucy, but we weren't that close, well until we all did our music exam together, then we were all inseparable. She was incredible at playing the drums and still is to this day, we all wanted her to play for boygenius on tour but she passed on the offer.
Her and Julien had met about 4 years ago, just before Covid when we all went to a coffee shop together. Then during quarantine they ended up moving in together, and then starting dating sometime last year.
'Lucy, Abby' she said brightly as she let us in 'i haven't see you guys in forever'
'Can you believe their not dating yet?' Phoebe joked while petting beans on the head
'Joke right?' Maya replied 'there's no way, you guys literally live together'
They joked about this all the time, I normally roll my eyes at them and lucy just shrugs it off. But this time it felt different. 'Why aren't we dating?' I thought to myself 'Maybe I just need to tell her I like her' I think the nerves of tour were just starting to get to me, when I get nervous I overthink absolutely everything and end up spiralling over the stupidest things. I mean as long as that didn't happen I'd been fine. Right?
'Right guys we have to leave in about half an hour' Julien told us while we were stood in her kitchen drinking coffee 'Maya's going to drive us to the first hotel then it's tour bus from there'
'Your guitars are all packed' Maya said before putting her arm around Juliens waist 'There in our room'
'Ill get them at put them in the car' Phoebe offered 'give you lovebirds some time to say goodbye, I know it's especially hard for lesbians'
'I'll help' I said before following phoebe to get Juliens stuff

'So you and Lucy' Phoebe said while we loaded the car 'Happy for you'
'Your all acting like we're dating when we're not' I scoffed while lifting a box off the curb and passing it to phoebe
'Well you like her right?'
'Maybe' I muttered
'Oh come on you made a whole album about it' she insisted
'Just tell her!' She laughed while poking my shoulder 'i know she likes you back'
'Why has she told you?' I asked while turning to look at her with a guitar case in my hand
'Pffft no' She said 'But you should see the way she looks at you, and that night at your brother house, she so obviously loves you'
'Yeah well she's my friend, that's what friends do Phoebe'
She raised an eyebrow at me 'Abby stop being delusional please'
'You need to tell her while we're on tour' she exclaimed 'Pleaseee, come on'
'Maybe' I mumbled
'Promise' she said while sticking her pinkie out
'No promises Phoebe, but whatever makes you happy'
'Yessss' she cheered jumping up and down ' I want to be your best man on your wedding day'
'I haven't even asked her yet!' I say while throwing the guitar case at her
'Hey, that is not how you treat your best man!'
I was already anxious enough, what had I just committed to?!?
