"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast."

                      - Ephesians 2:8-9

Grace is defined as the goodwill that has been given freely, although the recipient is not deserving of such generosity or kind act.

God's gracious nature helps us to manifest His blessings and gifts that we received from Him. The shower of His goodness was given to us freely - an endearing act of kindness, as well as generosity that has been poured into us by the glory of God Almighty.

As recipients of God's goodness together with being His children, we are made to have a close relationship with Him through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit lives in us, serving as our teacher, guide, and comforter - that is God's spirit itself.

Receiving the grace of God also means obtaining salvation through Him. It is our faith that enables us to walk with God and to follow Him, to be set apart - the chosen ones who walk in faith through Him. Salvation is God's protection to us against any means of harm to keep us safe. That doesn't mean we are not immune to Satan's attacks or no longer face any trials. It means that we are protected by God because we are His chosen people who are deeply close to Him.

His works in our lives resemble the testimony of miracles, knowing that He is always present at all times. God is the Maker of Miracles - He expresses Himself in different ways to connect with us so that we will know Him.

The grace that God has given us shows his unwavering love towards us. The goodness He shares with us through the presence of blessings is sent with righteousness in His glory.

Believing in God without actually seeing Him means that we love Him through having faith in Him. Putting our trust in God shows that we believe in Him by obeying His commandments. Having faith in Him gives us guidance in our everyday lives and gives us righteousness in making decisions. As a child of God, walking with Him as a believer indicates that we love Him.

He gives what we desire and we freely receive His immeasurable gifts that He blesses each one of us with. God grants the wants that we yearn for and the things we aspire to. He allows us to accept His favors and use them for our own good through Him.

The free gift of the Holy Spirit is with us, the moment we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. We put our faith in Him and follow his path. Then, we receive His salvation and through it, at the same time, have a close relationship with Him, then we are called to be set apart as His chosen ones.

"He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time."

               - 2 Timothy 1:9

Grace is the compassion that is able to show mercy towards the unfavorable, but gives them the prosperity of His goodness. His mercy and generosity extends to us that neither of us deserve. Although we are all sinners, who fall short in God's sight, we have been able to obtain His generosity. That is to be blessed with gifts given by Him.

Having a holy life means being able to follow Jesus Christ, primarily to be more like Him - to act, feel, behave, as well as to think like Him through salvation and in faith. It is to be set apart to be one of His chosen ones, the people who abide their faith in Him.

God gives us free will, whether we follow Him or not. He lets us choose what we want in our lives, either to live for Him or not. He lets us decide whatever we want to do. But even if others do not walk with God, He still shows them grace and is passionate about blessing them. He extends His mercy towards them. After all, it all depends on our desires, which can affect our decisions towards our spiritual lives.

That is how loving our God is - He is just and righteous, but He is also merciful at the same time compassionate.
