CHAPTER 14

Arnav's POV

It was hilarious to watch Khushi struggling with the saree, especially while climbing stairs. Of course, Miss Independent refused to take my help or let me hold her hand. I kept a close eye on her, praying to lord almighty that she doesn't trip and break her bones.

Last week, thanks to jetlag and dust allergy since I had not cleaned the house in quite some time, Khushi ended up being dehydrated and fainted in the bathroom. After giving her some ORS (Oral Rehydration Solution) and some meds, she was all better.

While she slept, thanks to the medicines, I ended up cleaning the room and dusting each and every corner. Khushi being the ass that she is, also ended up bopping my nose with a handle of a broomstick.

Yes Your Majesty, your peasant will clean away, while you rest up and recover.

(Back in the temple)

After the prayers, we headed out for lunch. It was hilarious seeing my little brother be on the receiving end of Payal's anger level due to his overbearing and overprotectiveness if that's even a word.

As we departed after lunch, I couldn't help but think about how our life is going to change. My little brother is going to be a father in another 6 months. God save the baby's soul!

I honestly can't imagine himself being a father given the fact that I have seen him grow into this chaotic mess of a man.

(Later that day)

Akash and I were cuddling on the sofa after dinner at his parent's house alongside Arnav & Khushi. As much as I hate milk, everyone and I mean everyone is behind me to have a glass of milk every day. And I gruntingly had to agree for the sake of the baby.

As Akash left me on the sofa to fetch a glass of warm milk, I looked over at Tommy, who was busy chewing his toys that were scattered all over the living room floor. I guess our house is going to get even more messy with the arrival of little angel.

Akash tripped on one of Tommy's toys and fell down, droping the glass of milk on the floor.

He sighed and picked up the broken glass pieces.

I teased -"It's cute how you're fallling for me."

Akash, mopping the floor -"We're married, babe."

Payal - "Still"

(The same day)

Khushi's POV

After a tirng day at the temple and dinner, still clad in the saree for freaking 12+ hours, I was exhausted and immediately changed into comfortable pjyamas and crashed into bed feeling sleepy.

(A hour later)

I woke up to the faint noise of keyboard clunking, slightly waking me up from sleep.

I rolled and found Arnav next to me, working on his laptop.Must be working on his research paper.

He noticed me awake -"Sorry, did I wake up?"

"No, it's fine." - I lied. I have a bad feeling that I am going to get a headache since I won't be able to fall asleep this night. And so, I slumped against the bedframe and turned on my lamp for reading and grabbed a book from my night stand.

Arnav, with his eyes still focused on the screen - "You might as well call me that lamp.."

Huh? Is he drunk? Or am I sleep derived to comprehend.

"Why.." - I asked him, out of curiosity.

"Because you turn me on." - He deadpanned at me, making every hair on my neck to stand up.

I didn't know how to react to his words. All I managed to do was slam the book shut and fall asleep, pulling the blanket over my head, and hiding myself from him.

I'M KIDDING!!
I'm starting a new role soon and along with some new responsibilities and more time in training.
So, I've decided to end this book.

(I can already feel tomatoes being thrown at me)

But, that's a choice I have to make.
