Time flew by really quickly and my babies were growing pretty well. Sireth went to hibernate with the first flakes of snow after hunting. He made his burrow right under our house, under our fireplace. I lined furs on the floor, so he wouldn't get too cold. The fireplace helped a lot. Honestly, at this point, I don't even know why is he hibarnating, when he is almost baking there.
Ok I'm exaggerating now. I went there while he were sleeping to make him a company, but the chill from the floor really get to me. The furs toned the cold down a little, but the winter here is pretty harash.
I'm glad they made that fireplace. I love sitting there with a cup of tea. But I was able to enjoy one, only when my little devils were sleeping. Otherwise they were running around in the house and destroying everything they could. Winston were trying to teach them not to do that and played the bad cop, but all that fasad broke, when little Luna give him her puppy eyes. I did that before them once. Only once! And that little pisquick catched on that!
I named my cubs Kit and Kat and my female cub Luna, because of her beautiful silver hair. Yes, she can change to a real baby whenever she wants. The first time it happened, was when they were only month old and I was holding her, while blowing on her belly. She was laughing/meowing like crazy when all of a sudden, she shifted. I almost dropped her fromthe shock of the change. I cried kneeling on the floor, from what could have happen to her, if I really dropped her.
As I was bawling my eyes I was holding her close to my body. Not knowing what was going on or if she did something wrong, she cried too. Our crying session scared my men so much, that even Sireth woke up and slithered to us, with a speed of a snail. When he finally reached us, we quieted down, and they had to carry him back to his lair, because he fell right back asleep on the floor. When their initial shock wore off, they swooned around little Luna.
She was beautiful. She had silver hair after Winston and had myamber eyes, which were puffy from crying. I can imagine mine looks the same. When I calmed down, I had to explain to her, that she didn't do anything wrong and that I got only scared of dropping her. So she was banned from changing, while we were holding her.
So she started to change in mid air, while running at me. Just brilliant. My catching skills were honed to perfection. And my anxiety level raised to the sky. And I guess my feelings passed to the Sireth, because on one of this occasions he woke up again and hissed at Luna angrily. When he made sure, she understood what he wanted, he went back to sleeping.
And I guess she did understood, because she stopped doing that. Thank gods for that. Or to grumpy Sireth. I guess he really doesn't like children that much. Well, I hope he will at leastget used to them and won't try to eat any of them, after he wakes up. We are stocked up with food to feed him, if necessary. And as the end of this damned cold season neared, I carriednew basket with food for him every day.
I wasn't sure when exactly will he wake up, so this were my best solution. And it proved to be effective, when I walked on one especially warm morning to his lair with new basket, only to find him finishing the previous one. He ate the contents from the one I was holding as well and pounced on me right after.
It didn't look like he wanted to release me anytime soon, but my growling belly convinced him. I did bring his food, before my breakfast everyday, so it's only natural I would be hungry. And it is past our lunch time. When we emerged from the darkness of his burrow, Bart waited for me with warm meal and scowl directed at Sireth. Right after my lunch, that I hungrily choked on, Bart took me to bathroom to wash. And mate.
