The next day, Alora and Astra had woken up. Neither of them said anything about what happened in the night. Alora was worried that Astra would bring it up, maybe make fun of her or question it... but Astra just gave her a small nod, already understanding that Alora didn't want to talk about it, and then went onto an excited tangent about how she couldn't wait for their first day.
As Alora Potter and Astra Black made their way down to the Great Hall for breakfast, their distinct personalities and appearances couldn't have been more apparent.
Astra, with her long, flowing black hair that framed her face like a curtain of shadows, possessed an air of mystery and elegance. Her cloudy gray eyes reflected in the sunlight as the beams fell through the windows. They held a mischievous glint, a hint of the rebellious spirit that seemed to run in her blood.
Her tie was slightly askew and her shirt untucked in a way that suggested she'd just rolled out of bed. The Gryffindor scarf wrapped casually around her neck seemed like an afterthought, a splash of crimson against her rebellious nature. Astra's grin was infectious, and her confident stride exuded an air of rebelliousness, as if she were ready to challenge every rule in the book.
Alora, on the other hand, had her messy chestnut-brown hair that tumbling down her back in unruly waves. Her bright green eyes sparkled with curiosity and a touch of mischief, a testament to her adventurous spirit. She wore her uniform with a comfortable dishevelment, her tie (which Astra had tied for her) was also slightly askew and her shirt not overly tucked.
Their playful banter continued as they entered the Great Hall, taking in the breathtaking sight of the enchanted ceiling that mimicked the outside sky. Alora couldn't help but marvel at the beauty of the castle, her eyes wide with wonder.
Astra leaned closer to Alora. "You know, Al, I've heard there's a hidden passage to Hogsmeade somewhere in the castle. They dont let us go to Hogsmeade until our third year, but if we find the passage, we could sneak down there and get shit from Zonko's."
"Hogsmeade? What's that?" Alora asked, her face bathed in confusion
Astra's jaw dropped slightly before she quickly covered it up, throwing her arm around Alora's shoulders, "it's a village not too far from the castle, there's shops and stuff down there. They've got the three broomsticks which sells the best butter beer you can buy," she said excitedly.
Alora was only getting more and more confused by the second, she didn't know what butter beer was, but she could tell that it was good by the look on Astra's face. Though, she covered up her confusion, not wanting to embarrass herself in front of her new friend.
Alora raised an eyebrow, her expression a mix of amusement and concern. "Astra, we haven't even started classes yet. Maybe we should focus on our studies first."
Astra let out an exaggerated sigh. "What's the fun in that, Al? The best part about Hogwarts is having fun with your friends. But don't worry; I promise not to drag you into too much trouble." Alora grinned at the nickname.
As they took their seats at the Gryffindor table, Alora couldn't help but smile at how well all of this was going for her. To say that she had been scared to come to Hogwarts was an understatement, but it was all going rather smoothly, and she was sure that this was the best thing that had ever happened to her.
The Great Hall was a spectacle in itself. The long tables were laden with all sorts of delicious breakfast treats, from crispy bacon to fluffy pancakes and steaming porridge. Students from all four houses chatted and laughed, their voices echoing through the grand chamber.
Astra's eyes lit up as she surveyed the food. "Now this is what I call a proper breakfast!"
Alora laughed, reaching for a plate and serving herself a moderate portion. "Remember, Astra, moderation is key."
