Sub-Zero wakes up in...bed? A really soft bed. He looks down and notices he's only wearing the bottom half of the attire he wore at the tournament. He slowly gets up and walks around the room. The bed he was laying in was a very fancy bed with curtains hanging from the top. Everything in the room was blue and purple. He could only assume who the room belonged to. Sure enough, the woman who owns the room enters carrying a tray of food. She isn't wearing the same attire she was either.

Sub-Zero: Kitana...
Kitana: You shouldn't be up. You should be resting.
Her voice was filled with worry. Like a first-time mother trying to help her sick child.
Sub-Zero: I have rested enough, princess. How long was I out?
Kitana: Four days. Of course, Outworld days are the equivalent of one Earthrealm day.
Sub-Zero: I was in a coma for nearly a month?
Kitana: No, you were not comatose. It was a deep sleep. They are close, but they aren't the same. In a coma, you continue to fight for your life. In a deep sleep, you have already healed and your body will awaken once you've regained your strength. You are in no danger while in a deep sleep.
Sub-Zero: I see. How am I healed?
Kitana: Drackon is a man of many talents. He's learned many tricks in the service of Outworld.
Sub-Zero: Where am I?
Kitana: You are in Outworld. These is my room. We are in one of Shao Kahn's palaces. He gave this one to Drackon as a reward for ending the Osh-Tekk rebellion.
Sub-Zero: And he gave you a room?
Kitana: Of course. Drackon has looked out for me and my sister since Outworld conquered Edenia. He has safe places where we are allowed to just be ourselves and not pretend to be the loyal princesses of Outworld's Kahn.
Sub-Zero: That explains the clothes.
Kitana: Shao is a perverted and disgusting creature. He forces all of us to dress that way. He claims the clothes are gifts and if we refuse to wear them, we are betraying him.
