Alex's pov
When I woke up I already knew my ribs would be badly bruised. I don't even have money for new bandages.
I looked at the clock to see it was 6:30 am. Dad would be leaving in 15 minutes. I slowly got up and went to the rest room. I took a cold shower since I wasn't allowed to use the hot water. Only dad got that luxury. I didn't mind too much though.
I buttoned up my white blouse over a thin long sleeve shirt. I often got too hot in them but I didn't want people to see the bruises.
I checked to see If dad's truck was in the driveway was let out I sigh of relief. I sneakily grabbed an apple and walked out the door.
The walk to school was probably the best part of my day. Most the time it was peaceful and made me feel light.
Of course all the that goes away the second I step through the doors of school. Kids screaming and running around.
Like who in there right minds have energy so early in the morning. School started at 8:30 but I always got there at 7. Mainly cause I hate home.
I was pulled out of my thoughts when a familiar girl and a boy walked up to me.
"Hey Alex" Raya smiled. "This is my older brother Chat" she introduced. I put on a smile and waved. "Hello, my sister told me about how you showed you around and she wouldn't stop-" he was cut of by Raya hitting him, this caused him to laugh and she went red.
He looked back at me. "I'll tell you later" he whispered smirking.
They looked quite similar. The only difference was he had lighter hair and no scar.
"Chatttt" she whined. He just giggled. That's when James came over. I couldn't help but roll my eyes.
He put his arm around Raya and Chat.
"Y'know you don't have to hang out with her just cause you feel bad, come hang out with me and the boys, she's just a no life looser with no friends" he laughed.
Raya opened her mouth to say something but was interrupted by her brother. "We're good" he said.
God they were both intimidating when they wanted to be. Must run in the family. "C'mon, there's no way you actually want to hang out with her"
"Well I actually think she's cool, far cooler than you and your 'boys' " Chat Said wrapping his arm around me, causing me to flinch.
I don't think he noticed but Raya definitely did. She looked at me, looking both confused and a little concerned.
James rolled his eyes. "When you get sick of her you know where to find me" he just shrugged. "We're good, thanks" Raya said. Her voice sent shivers down my spine.
"We'll walk your to your 1st period" Chat smiled, "what do you have?"
I got my pad out and a pen art.
"Oh same, I have time to tell you all the embarrassing stuff Raya has done in the past" he whispered the last part. She scoffed and rolled her eyes Causing me and Chat to chuckle.
Lunch
I sat down outside against a tree. i don't usually sit in the cafeteria due to the fact I can't afford anything. and no one likes me anyway.
