"Today the US government made remarkable progress in their mission to militarize eligible citizens of the United States of America, Mr. Kilson, how do you feel knowing you were the only success of the X Project or Project X?" News reporters from several different out of state stations shoved microphones in the successor's face, the world was a blur of white from the camera flashing, voices mixed and it sounded like a beautiful triumphant chaos.

News stations reported about the first-ever successful cyborg for approximately 142 days. AI intelligence integrated into the brain. Body parts are replaced with titanium prosthetics while keeping all nerves intact and matching them to look like the user's flesh. Leo Kilson was a miracle in the government's eyes. an abomination in others. Though with nuclear war being a constant threat between nations the US government had to spend years and trillions of dollars figuring out how they can stop the threat of nuclear war.

Leo took his stand at the official podium of the United States of America. He cleared his throat looking out past the crowd to avoid the thousands of eyes watching him in person, and the millions that were streaming remotely. "I'd like to first thank the opportunity I had to be a part of this experiment. And I'd like it if we give a moment of silence to those who were not as lucky as me. The first ever human to attempt the transformation was named Lilia Averies. She was a 26-year-old from Houston, Texas. I'd like to take a moment of silence to honor her."

Leo stopped speaking for a few seconds after he gave his remarks to her.

What am I supposed to say? What do they want me to say? What was my script? What happened to her? Focus.

Taking a deep breath he continued with his speech. The crowd was silent with anticipation. "Ladies and gentlemen take today to be relieved that your government has your back. With the breakthrough of experiment X, you no longer need to fear nuclear disaster."

The crowd screamed and cheered. His white toothy smile broadcasted all over the news as he soaked in the praise and affirmation from the crowd.
