Raiden Ai is the little sister of Kunimitsu, due to being born one minute later than him. Like Kunimitsu, she too possesses the power of Electro without a vision and was personally trained by her mother while their father was out of commission. She was considered a pure god among the people of Inazuma and the gods that resided there. Raiden Makoto, her aunt, was mostly in charge of taking care of her when her mother was busy handling the Shogunate army. The difference between Kunimitsu and Ai is their hair and eyes. Kunimitsu takes after his mother with the eyes with his hair color combined with his mother's and father's while Ai takes after her mother mostly though she has star-like pupils like her father.

During the Cataclysm, Ai was taken by the Beast of Sin, the same one that devoured Mikoshi Chiyo, and it injured Kunimitsu and retreated to the depths of the Void Realm where she would be captive for 500 years. Roughly 400 years after Kunimitsu's self sacrifice, She escaped the Abyss but due to exposure to such dark power, her memories were forgotten and her godly powers were sealed. Her exact location of awakening was at the corpse of Elynas in Fontaine. Having spent most of her time in Fontaine she became an idol and singer that traveled Teyvat's current nations in hopes of finding a way of filling the gaps lingering in her memories and seek out her true heritage.
