song for the chapter:

A small red-headed girl walked into a large, busy room, shadowing her dad with a bored expression on her youthful face. Because her other 6 - yes 6 - siblings had managed to successfully evade her dad on Bring Your Children to Work Day, she, being the youngest and the only girl, became the victim, as always. Her oldest brothers were in school, and her other older, arguably the oblivious brother had managed to fake being sick, leaving her to face the boredom that was sure to ensue.

On the other side of the room, walking in through a similar entrance, mirroring the girl's stance, was a pale boy about a year older with white-blonde hair and grey eyes which, although young, were also deathly serious and mature. As the only child and heir of one of the most wealthy families in the wizarding world, the poor boy was always dragged along by his father to any event they attended, even though he was a mere six years old.

The two met eyes by chance, the red-haired girl offering the smallest smile. Seeming a bit surprised, the boy hesitatingly gave one back. The delicate moment was shattered, however, when the boy's father began to argue with the girl's dad. A fight soon broke out and the two young kids grinned at each other apologetically. Escaping from their busy parents, they started a conversation about quidditch and promised to keep in touch when their parents dragged them away, both fuming with too much anger to notice the friendship that had bloomed.

Though neither of them quite knew it, that small moment itself was what truly changed the futures of not only themselves but also, the people around them.
