It Isn't Too Far From D.C. (HC)

"This is so awesome". Ned muttered, staring at the spider tracker following one of the winged man's goons.

"I know right, I was able to get one on his leg as he was exiting the class". Naruto said as he walked into the room, munching on a bag of chips.

The two men from last night's deal had appeared at the school; following the men into the school's welding class, Naruto was able to place a tracker on the dark-skinned man's boot.

"So, we're going to have to watch this until they stop huh?". Ned asked.

"Actually you'll watch it, im going to take a nap". Naruto replied.

Walking towards the wall, the blonde began crawling until upside down on the ceiling, flipping onto his back, Naruto began snoring instantly.

"Lucky bastard". Ned muttered in jealousy.

Beep! Beep! Beep!

The loud beeping of the tracker caused Ned to quickly grab the device before sitting up.

"They stopped". He yawned, waking Naruto up.

"Where are they?". Naruto asked, sitting up, letting his upper half dangle upside down.

"Maryland, what's in Maryland?". Ned asked.

"Probably some kind of evil lair, it's a gang with weapons, so I wouldn't be surprised and tell me you did not fall asleep with my mask on". Naruto said before groaning.

"So how are you going to get there if it's like 300 miles away?" Ned asked, ignoring the remark. The mask was too cool not to try on; he'd been lucky he fell asleep before trying the full costume.

"It isn't too far from D.C." Naruto muttered while staring at his old decathlon booklet.

Being Spider-Man had taken away most, if not all, of his spare time; he couldn't do any extracurricular activities anymore, but hopefully, they would allow him on this trip.

-The following day-

"Hey, it's Naruto!" one of the students exclaimed.

"Naruto?". Liz asked, seeing the blonde appear.

"Hey guys, I was hoping I could rejoin the team and come on this trip". Naruto said.

"Hell no, you can't just quit and then randomly decide to rejoin", Flash said, walking towards Naruto.

"Hey welcome back Naruto, you can take Flash's spot, Flash your back to first alter now". Mr. Harrington said exiting the bus.

"Wait, what?". Flash asked in shock, only to be ignored as everyone began boarding the bus.

Flash glared at Naruto before taking off his jacket, throwing it at the blonde who simply chuckled, following behind the class.

For the most part, the ride consisted of the group going over a review of potential questions just to keep themselves sharp.

Naruto had been participating before he received a call from Happy, moving to the back of the bus, he answered the call.

"Hey happy, how's it hanging?". Naruto asked.

"I got a notification on my screen, you left New York?". Happy asked getting straight to the point.

"I'm just going on a school trip; nothing serious. You guys tracking me, though, gives me the wrong impression. I'm not even an Avenger, and it's no big deal." Naruto said.

Something about being tracked was giving him, well, the ick to sum it up.

Why had Tony Stark barely spoken to him and felt the need to place a tracker on him?
