Feeling slightly uncomfortable with how quiet my class was,I glanced round.Not like it wasn't a good thing but the class being quiet was so awkward.I was used to everywhere being loud with my classmates jumping up and down. But now ,everyone had their heads busy in the classwork our physics teacher gave us.
Still strange!!
This morning,Mr Adeyemo announced that the JAMB (Jamb admission and matriculation board) bodies had picked April for us to write our examination.So maybe, just maybe everyone has decided to get serious with their lives because,if a pin drops now,it would echo around the room.
With my index finger and my middle finger,I rubbed the pulsating side of my head as I stared at the physics question in front of me. Looking around again, I felt like an idiot. All my classmates seemed to be writing even though I was hundred and one percent sure that they didn't know what they were writing.At least,they were trying.
I looked at Ivie who was seriously bent in solving the question in front of her. Taking a peep into her book,I saw that she had used almost a page and the half just on one question.
"Ariel, just ask already." She whispered careful not to disturb anyone making me smile.
"This thing looks like gibberish."I lamented while I heard her chuckle.She went further in opening another page to write on it with me staring at her like she was crazy.
When Ivie was announced as the head girl of Westland,it hadn't been much of a surprise to everyone. Ivie possessed all characters needed to oversee the affairs of the school.
Brilliancy... check.
Punctuality... double check.
Neatness .... triple check.
Being prim and proper....over check!!!!
"And ............done." She clapped her hands like a child as she grinned widely at me.She dragged my note from me and was about to start writing when I held her hands.
"Just explain, I don't want to get you into trouble. You know how Mr Steve can be."
She rolled her eye at me as she began writing carefully on my note, making sure her writing looked like the question,"Ariel,you worry to much....relax and let me write for you and after I'll explain to you, because this thing is so long."
She continued writing without looking at me,not evening bothering to look at her book for help.
Such a pro!!
Half way through solving the physics question Keji rang the bell signifying the close of the day and my classmates gradually started to disperse.
"Fuck Mr Steve."Majeed cussed groaning as he stood up taking a stride round the class, stretching his legs.
The class was almost empty and just few people were in class.
Keji rolled her eye closing her book as she went ahead in arranging her bag pack"Just tell someone to explain to you."
"I can explain to you if you want." She shrugged making Majeed roar into laughter.
He stared at her awestruck as he made himself comfortable on her table,"Who is this and what have you done to the keji I know." He lifted up her chin while she slapped his hands away glaring at him
