'The Familiar Feeling'

"So, I'm hearing talks of a party on Saturday. Are you going?" Gabriel asked Imogen as he sat down on the bench beside her.

"Nick invited me," she replied, smiling giddily.

"Thank god- I say this with all the love in my heart but I was worried I was going to be stuck with these idiots," Gabriel replied, motioning to the boys behind him.

"Oi! I heard that," Harry exclaimed.

"I said it with love!" He exclaimed back before turning back to Imogen. "So, Nick yeah?"

"Don't start!"

"Start with what?" Gabriel smirked. "Choosing Nick Nelson over me? My feeling are hurt!" He dramatically continued, sighing heavily.

"Pack it up, Macbeth," Imogen playfully rolled her eyes at his dramatics.

"Why do you reject me, my dearest partner of greatness," the boy continued his dramatic.

"You're insufferable."

"You love it," he wink as Imogen broke into a small laugh.

"Maybe a little."

"Ha ha, success!"

"You know Tara Jones is going to be there." A boy from beside Nick informed as they were getting changed.

"Mate, she is well fit," another added. "Nick is going to have his pick of two girls." The second boy continued, blind to the fact Nick was standing near.

"Who's the other girl?"

Nick glanced at Charlie who felt the awkwardness of the situation.

"Imogen, obviously. Everyone knows she fancies him." Gabriel's heart sank for a moment. Imogen had talked about her crush on Nick and it made him feel weird every time she'd bring up the subject. Maybe it was the fact that he knew Charlie also liked Nick?

"Hey, what?" Nick, as calmly as he could, interrupted the pair of boys.

"Oh, um... nothing. We're talking about Tara Jones. She's going to be at Harry's party."

"What about her?" Nick asked as Charlie and Gabriel stared at the floor.

"Though you might be interested, mate," Harry piped up, a smirk sliding into his face.

"We don't have a thing. We just kissed at a party once," Nick informed.

"Nick's got a thing with Imogen now?" His heart sunk a little bit further.

"No, no, I don't," Nick replied, almost panicked.

"He had two proper fit girls trying to get with him and he's not even bothered," a boy spoke up besides Gabriel.

Charlie's father was kind enough to drop Gabriel off. "Do you also need a lift home?"

"No need, Frankie said she'd pick me up." Gabriel replied politely before the pair exited the car and waved of the older Spring.

"So Nick..." Gabriel begun but was quickly cut off.

"Don't even!" Charlie replied with a laugh. "So, Imogen?"

"You dare use my own spells against me." Gabriel quoted and playfully glared at the shorter boy as they entered the building. "Oh wow, it's so loud." Gabriel stated the obvious.
