"Everyone, this is Nick," Charlie announced, walking back to the group.

"Hey," Nick said with a smile.

"Oh, good. We're just choosing fun names for the board," Elle informed, motioning to the board.

"Fun names?"

"Yeah and for the record, Elle Smells was Tao's idea," Issac stated from beside Gabriel as he was typing in his name.

"Which is the worst name ever," Gabriel commented, sitting back down.

"And Macbeth is any better?" Elle defended Tao with a smile.

"Got to promote it," he replied with a smirk. "So are we starting or what?" He called out to Charlie and Tao.

Playing in a cast was harder than Gabriel expected, especially that he'd broken his dominant hand. But what surprised him was that he still managed to finish in third.

"Ready for another game?" Isaac asked, book in hand.

"I'm just gonna find the bathroom," Charlie replied, leaving the group. A few moments later Tao followed.

"Gabriel, I need to tell you something," Elle walked up to Gabriel, who was looking over Isaac's shoulder at what he was reading.

"Um, sure," the boy replied, unsure what the girl had to tell him. The pair walked away a few paces so no one could hear them. "You alright?"

"Yeah," Elle paused, unsure how to word what she was about to say. "Are you and Jasmine dating?"

"I'm sorry?" Gabriel exclaimed in surprise, confused how the girl came to the conclusion.

"Jasmine has been telling a few people that yous are," Elle explained, her words coming out at a quicker pace. "I didn't know if it was true and I wanted to check because you normally tell us this stuff."

"Okay," was all Gabriel said, dragging out the word in confusion. Why would Jasmine do that? She wasn't the jealous type, she'd normally say things as they were. "Well... we're not dating."

"Okay, I was so confused so a second because I thought you had this thing with Imogen-"

"What?" Gabriel exclaimed, coughing out his response due to the sudden statement. "I don't- I... okay, maybe I do but she's interested in Nick," he replied, looking slightly dejected.

Elle gave him a sad smile and pulled him into a hug. "Maybe it will all work out," she said as if she knew something he didn't know. Before he could question her, the pair was called back to start their second game.

Gabriel stood in front of the theatre, five hours after Charlie's party. He'd came fourth in the second game as Isaac kept distracting him, trying to cheat his way into third place, which he did.

"Oh dearest husband, to what do I owe the pleasure?" Jasmine approached Gabriel with a smile on her face, clutching her black and white checkered tote bag. "Are you alright?" She continued, noticing that her line did not make him smile as usual.

"Have you been telling everyone that we're going out?"

"Oh," Jasmine let out from her lips, Gabriel now looking at her for an explanation. "Well technically I never said those words... I might have... implied it."

"Why?" Gabriel's voice laced in confusion, no accusation or anger could be found which helped Jasmine explain herself. She always liked that about him, he'd always hear everyone out before reacting.

"Okay, so..." Jasmine began. "I heard a few rumours that you and Imogen like each other. I know you like her but she was also not denying them too. But I know she likes Nick and maybe a few other of his friends. So I implied that we were seeing each other more because I don't want Imogen to be another Max," she finished, now looking at the ground, slightly embarrassed.

"So you don't..."

"Oh, no!" Jasmine replied quickly. "Sorry, I replied so quickly. I like you but not like that."

The pair breathed a sigh of relief before Gabriel spoke up again. "So you did it... to protect me?"

"I guess?"

"Thank you but you don't have to do that," the boy replied, smiling at his friend as reassurance. "I've learned my lessons."

"Okay," she simply said with a smile before she was pulled into a hug by her best friend. "Plus I like someone else," Jasmine suddenly added.

"I'm sorry, what?"

Jasmine burst out laughing at Gabriel's expression of shock as she tried to form a response after being bombarded with surprise by that statement.

"Who?"

"That's for me to know and for you to find out," Jasmine replied with a smirk before walking towards the entrance of the theatre.

"You can't just leave me with that!"

"I just did!" She called back, laughing, enjoying Gabriel's confusion.

"Jasmine!"
