Chapter 3: I Wanna See My Real Dad

It was Friday night, the girls have already meet their mom's new boyfriend in the afternoon. He was coming back to see Bellatrix at her place since she invited him over for dinner. Brie and Stella liked him, being very polite and they've told Derek that they were really happy for him and their mother dating for months now. Colby didn't like him at all, the afternoon she scoffed at him and been rude, disrespectful. Bellatrix didn't know why her daughter was acting like that.

"Derek, I'm so sorry about my daughter Colby that afternoon!" Bellatrix said over the phone while cooking dinner in the kitchen and Colby was up against the wall, listening to the conversation.

"It's okay babe! But she'll just need more time to get to know me better like Brie and Stella, at least they happy for our relationship!" Derek said over the phone.

"Yeah, you're right! She's not so easy to get along with either besides Leo is the last mutant I wouldn't want to be with! Ever since, I left new York and divorced him...I just thought it might be way better if me and him just lived our own lives separately, he never was happy for me about my college future plans!" Bellatrix explained to him over the phone while Colby was listening to the conversation and heard everything that her mom said about her dad Leo.

"Babe...I would be happy for you about your college future plans! I'd totally would watch over the girls while your in college! But are you still thinking about going?" Derek asked.

"Maybe not! But that would give you and me to spend more time together!" Bellatrix said as she smiles and he chuckled.

"I love you Bellatrix!" He said.

"I love you too Derek!" She said. Colby was disgusted with them being lovey dovey as she sticks her tongue out and rolled her eyes. She knows that her mom didn't love him and that she wanted Leo and her to get back together.

"I'll be over there in a few minutes babe!" Derek said.

"Okay, I'll see you tonight!" Bellatrix said as she hung up the phone and Colby was angry with her mom right now. She came into the kitchen with her arms crossed.

"I know you don't love him!" Colby said with an attitude as Bellatrix turned around and see her daughter standing there.

"Colby, was you listening to my conversation with Derek just now?" Bellatrix asked in a serious tone as she raises her eyebrow at her daughter.

"Yes! How could you say that about Leo? He's our dad! I can't believe you would just divorce him like that and he probably doesn't even know that we existed!" Colby yelled as her mother was sick of her attitude.

"Colby, you are not gonna be yelling at me like that I'm your mother and I know what's best for our lives here in San Francisco!" Bellatrix yelled as the mother and daughter arguing with each other.

"Pfft! Our lives here in San Francisco is lame to me!" Colby said in anger as the door bell ring and Derek was here. Bellatrix looks at her daughter and spoke to her.

"I'm not gonna argue with you, young lady! But for now, Derek is here and I love him whether you like it or not! Go get your sisters and wash up for dinner!" She said in a serious tone. Colby groaned and went to go wash up for dinner tonight. Bellatrix open the door, she was really happy with her boyfriend Derek.

"Hey babe, you made it!" Bellatrix said as she kissed him on the lips and he came into the house, impressive with the furniture and other stuff around the house.

"Nice place you got here babe! I'm impressed with the furniture that you've got!" Derek said as he sat down and heard footsteps coming towards the hallway.

"Hey Derek!" Brie and Stella said at the same time with smiling faces on.

"Hey girls!" He said as he smiles back at them. Bellatrix smiled as she set out the table with the help of Derek and her daughters, laughing together as they were having spaghetti and meatballs, garlic knots for dinner. Colby was in her room, looking at the picture of her dad on her phone again.

"Colby dinner is ready!" Bellatrix cried out as the young turtle came into the kitchen, seeing her sisters giggling and laughing with Derek at the table. Seeing her mom being happy with this mutant lizard guy, Colby knew that she wasn't gonna get use to him that often. "Colby come join us!" She said gently with a smile on her face.

Colby sighed sadly and sees the food on the table. "Wow! Mom...this dinner is pretty great!"

"Thank you sweetie!" Bellatrix said gently as they just now gotten over the argument.

"I've always wanted my life to be like this all the time...with a real family dinner together every night! Because that's what family is all about! You're real family!" Colby said as Derek looked at her and she had a fake smile on, but he didn't notice.

"Yep, sure is! But it would be great if Derek became our dad and that way we could have dinner like this as a real family!" Brie said in happiness.

"Oh, that would be so cool! If mom and Derek do ever get married one day he'll be our dad!" Stella said as she took a bite out of her knot garlics. Bellatrix smiled and started to think about that.

"Really? Y'all want me to be your dad if I ever marry your mom?" Derek asked as Brie and Stella happily spoke.

"Yeah!" They said in happiness as Colby thoughts about that, it made her upset and she stood up from the table and burst into tears in front of everyone.

"No! It isn't okay with me!" Colby said in sadness as she looks at her mom and Bellatrix notice the tears streaming down her daughter's cheeks. "I wanna see my real dad! This doesn't make me happy at all!" She said in sadness as she grabbed the bowl of garlic knots from the table, threw it to the ground as everyone looked at her with awkward faces except for Bellatrix.

Colby was so upset as she burst into more tears, storming off to her room and and slammed the door. Bellatrix sighed sadly, she had no idea that Colby would be this upset about having a new dad if Bellatrix and Derek would ever get married, then it wouldn't make Colby happy for the rest of their lives.

Meanwhile, Colby was in her room and she stopped crying but her eyes were red right now. Bellatrix came into her bedroom and she sat down her daughter's bed.

"Colby...I have no idea that you having a new dad would make you this so upset, I'm sorry I didn't realize that you were unhappy!" She said gently as Colby looks up at her mother.

"Well, even though I've never met Leo before, he's still my dad! I miss him, I miss him alot! I just wish I could met him! But I doubt that you won't let us because you never told us anything about him!" Colby said in a little bit of sadness, but she was still angry at the same time, seeing her daughter like this just breaks Bellatrix's heart.

"Tell you what? I'll think about it! I know I haven't called him or texted him for so long, but If this is what you want then I'll talk to him about it and tell him all about y'all!" She said gently as she kissed Colby on the forehead.

"Okay!" Colby said gently. But she didn't smile this time as her mother left the room, Colby turned off the lights and drifted to sleep. Bellatrix sighed and went to her room, she decided to write Leo a letter since she hasn't called or text him. She got a piece of paper and a pencil as she went into the kitchen and sat down on, with the lights on. Brie and Stella were already asleep in their rooms.

"Come on, you can do this!" Bellatrix thought to herself as she tried to think of the words to put on the letter. She stayed focused on it that night. Hopefully, Leo would get her letter really soon.
