"Pietro, darling. I love you, but if you keep Natalya up for too much longer we are going to have a miserable, napless afternoon." With my arms crossed in the doorway, I smiled at Him and our daughter.
"What time is it, милая?" Pietro stood up and looked at his watch. Seeing that it was an hour past Natalya's naptime, he frowned teasingly at her. "Your мамочка is right. It's naptime, bunny."
"Papa, I'm not tired," she giggled, still laughing after being tickled a moment earlier.
"Papa doesn't need to keep you up any longer," I told her. "Come here, hun." I held out my hands for her and she got up, and sadly walked into my arms, letting me pick her up. I noticed a tear on her face and wiped it away. "Don't cry, lovie."
"But I don't wanna go to bed, мамочка. I said I'm not tired." She was starting to get a bit angry now, raising her voice.
"Naty. You need to take a nap right now because grandpa said he's coming over later." Pietro said.
"Grandpa?" Natalya's eyes lit up at the mention of Tony. I nodded my head with a smile.
"Say goodnight to papa," I told her. she blew a kiss towards Pietro and he caught it, shoving it in his pocket. Natalya giggled as I carried her to her room. I tucked into bed and sat next her. I started to hum a quiet tune while she started falling asleep. It only ever takes around ten minutes for her to fall asleep.
Once I left her room, I knocked on her brother's door. I opened it slowly and walked in.
"Your sister's asleep, Phoenix. Don't yell too loud at the video games." I got a simple nod from the sixteen-year old before I left. I smiled as I sat down next to Pietro on the couch. "I learned a new word today," I informed him.
"Really? Thirty five and still learning new words?" Pietro teased. "What word is it?"
"Kairosclerosis," I said proudly.
"What does it mean?"
"the moment you realize that you're currently happy." And I felt that. Finally, I truly realized how happy I really was.
