The Plan

Hope's POV

We arrived at Naboo safely and it's a beautiful planet. I've never seen so much green or plant life. We landed in the swamp and Jarjar went to the gungan city under water to look for his people. While we waited on the shore.

"What do you think?" Padme asks me.

"Very green" I tell her and she laughs lightly. I look at the water. "Jarjar is coming back" I state as I sense him approaching. Jarjar walks out of the water shaking his head.

"Dare-sa nobody dare. All gone. Some kinda fight, I tink. Sorry, no Gungas, no Gungas" he tells us. I still have trouble understanding the way he speaks. But it was clear that no one was in the city when he arrived. But where are they?

"Do you think they have been taken to camps?" the captain asks him.

"More likely they were wiped out" Obi-wan states.

"No...mesa no tink so. Gungan hiden. When in trouble, go to sacred place. Mackineeks no find them dare" Jarjar explains.

"Do you know where they are?" Qui-gon asks. Jarjar nods and leads the way. Deeper into the swamp. I hold Ani's hand so he doesn't wonder off. Jarjar soon stops and makes a weird chattering noise. Suddenly, out of nowhere, seven gungan warriors riding on strange looking creatures emerge from the brush.

"Heyo-dalee, Captain Tarpals" Jarjar says to the leader of the group.

"Binks!! Noah gain!" Captain Tarpal complains. I guess he isn't happy Jarjar has brought us to their sacred place.

"We comen to see da boss" Jarjar tells him. Tarpal rolls his eyes but they take us to the other gungans. Who are taking refuge in some old temple ruins.

"Jar Jar, yousa payen dis time. Who's da uss-en others??" the Boss asks. I think Padme told me his name is Boss Nass. The queen steps forward with her captain, Qui-gon and Obi-wan.

"I am Queen Amidala of the Naboo, I come before you in peace" she states.

"Naboo biggen. Yousa bringen da Mackineeks. Dya busten uss-en omm. Yousa all bombad. Yousa all die'n, mesa tink" Boss Nass states. Qui-gon and Obi-wan remain calm but the others look nervous. Suddenly Padme steps forward.

"Your Honor" she says.

"Whosa dis?" Boss Nass asks.

"I am Queen Amidala. This is my decoy, my protection, my loyal bodyguard" she explains gesturing to the woman dressed as the queen. I share a shocked look with Ani, I did not see that coming. We focus back on Padme and Boss Nass.

"I am sorry for my deception, but under the circumstances it has become necessary to protect myself. Although we do not always agree, Your Honor, our two great societies have always lived in peace, until now. The Trade Federation has destroyed all that we have worked so hard to build. You are in hiding, my people are in camps. If we do not act quickly, all will be lost forever. I ask you to help us. No, I beg you to help us" Padme says kneeling before him. "We are your humble servants, our fate is in your hands" she states and we to all bow to Boss Nass.

Who begins to laugh. "Yousa no tinken yousa greater den da Gungans?" he asks. "Mesa like dis. Maybe wesa bein friends" he declares and we all smile.

"You're amazing Padme" I tell her and she smiles sheepishly. She sends her captain to do some recon in the city. While she and the other grown ups work on a plan. It's hard to see her as an adult, a queen. Sure Ani thinks she's an angel, but still how did she become queen so young? I hope she will tell me the story some time. But right now we need to make a plan and free Naboo.
