I heard him giggle.
It was sweet.

I raised my eyebrow and looked at him directly. His eyes were all over me. I felt my cheeks blushing a little.

"What's funny?" I tried to sound like I didn't care, even though I really wanted to know.

"Mmmh. It's not that funny. It's just the nerves... I giggle when I'm feeling nervous. Sorry about that." His voice was soft , and the sound of his voice felt comforting.

"Am I the one making you nervous?" I smirked. That was like a silly thought. Of course, I am making him nervous. He doesn't know me, and now his sitting in my bed. Obviously, he must feel nervous.

"Mmmh. No. You're not the one making me nervous. Actually, I really like the feeling of your presence. It's weird. I don't know you, yet, I feel.... safe?"

He sounded so honest. And the weirdest thing is: I feel the same.

"Oh, I didn't mean to make you feel uncomfortable."

"No!! On the contrary!" I answered quickly, maybe too quickly.

I saw him smirk. Why do I feel like we've known each other for so long?

"Tell me, why are you here? Why are you bruised?" I touched his arm and felt tingles. Probably the drugs they gave me, I laughed to myself.

"Well... I was in a car accident."

I froze.

"Really? When?" My voice trembled, and it started to be hard to breathe.

"Earlier... my father got drunk... he took the car and pushed me inside. I tried... I really tried to stop him. I screamed, "The light is yellow..." I...I...I..." his voice faded. I didn't know what to tell him. I could not be the one making him feel better...

"I'm so sorry you had to live this.. do you know if he hit someone else?" I heard my own voice and pitied myself.

"Yes. He did..." he started to look at me with horror in his eyes. He rose from the bed and started to stumble on his words.
"You. You told me you lost everything. Please... tell me we didn't take everything from you. Please tell me you weren't in a car accident..." he begged.
