Always by Gavin James

"Hi, Momma." I said softly, tears streaming down my face as she opened the front door.
"Come inside, dear." She whispered, grabbing my elbow gently and pulling me inside. "You miss your dad?"
"So much." I said, wiping my face as new tears fell.
"Who brought you?" She asked, pulling me into her chest and holding me.
"Will did. He drove me all the way here because I didn't want to be anywhere else right now." I sobbed, completely breaking in my mother's embrace.
"You go sit down and I'll tell the boy to come inside." She whispered, leading me to the couch. I sat down silently as the tears fells and dripped onto Will's sweat pants.
She walked outside into the cold air and I felt terribly for bothering her. Coming here when she's in just as much pain as I.
"Thank you for inviting me inside, Mrs. Davis." Will said politely. He looked at me with a sad expression but continued to smile in my mother's presence. He walked over to me after slipping off his jacket and shoes. He wrapped the jacket around my shoulders and pulled me into him.
"You guys feel free to stay the night." My mom said, sitting on the other side of me on the couch and rubbing my leg softly.
"Will it always be this hard? Why wasn't it this hard when I lost grandma or grandpa?" I asked quietly.
"They're not your father, Harmony. Nothing hurts more than losing your father, honey." My mother said softly.
"You lose apart of yourself and you're allowed to feel like this." Will whispered, pressing a kiss to the top of my head.
"When will it go away?" I sobbed, turning my head so it was faced directly into Will's chest.
"Soon enough it'll fade to a dull ache you only feel once in a while. It's only been a year, Harm. He's been in your life for twenty two, one year isn't going to fix the hurt of going through the rest of your life without him."
"What do I do without him?"
"You try your damnedest to survive, love." Will whispered.
Silence fell upon us, but all I could do was try to quiet my pain internally.
"I'm heading up to bed, sweetheart. Please come in the room if you need me." My mom whispered. She kissed my head and walked off.
"Why don't we go lay in your bed, love. It'll be more comfortable."
"And you'll be with me?" I asked softly.
"Always." He whispered back in response. I nodded and we got up and went to my room. I laid down on the bed, watching him walk around the room like he knew where anything was.
"What are you doing?" I said with a small laugh. He stopped walking and looked at me with a goofy smile.
"Finding your guitar. I'm going to play you a new song I wrote." He said with a smile. I nodded and pointed to where it was in my closet. He paused upon opening it. He grabbed a hoodie and the guitar and walked to my bed. He laid the guitar on the bed before stripping himself of his hoodie. He threw the fabric at me before putting on the hoodie in my closet.
"What are you doing, now?" I laughed, slipping the material over my head with ease.
"Trading you clothes, duh. I know you know how to keep up, love." He joked.
"How could I ever not?" I joked back. He sat on the bed next to me and started playing the guitar softly. He played one of his new songs and I just leaned my head on his shoulder.
"You amaze me." I whispered. He didn't hear it over the guitar, or if he did he never commented on it.
I think I was starting to fall in love with William Gold, and boy was it okay.
