Light From Afar

In the darkness of night,

The moon shined bright,

The light of the sun; suffice,

To illuminate the night.

As time walked,

The moon faded,

Under the veil of shadow,

As the sun hid in the meadow.

Left in the darkness,

The moon still was naive,

It waited for the sun,

And the world considered it brave.

The light from afar,

Reached the moon,

To only disappear,

And leave it in the gloom.

Again, as time walked,

The light from afar faded,

In the darkness of night,

The moon was lost.

The moon could never stay,

All it could do was pray,

For the light it found,

Was not within itself.

Inspired by the lines:

I want you to be your light, babe.

You could be your light

So that you won't be hurt

So that you could smile.
