GUYSSS I learned more fancy words

The typical chaos of family life ensued. The cacophony of sibling squabbles filled the air.

"YO, I SWEAR, GIVE ME BACK MY PHONE! DAD, DAD, YO WON'T GIVE ME BACK MY PHONE!"

"OUUU! Hayame is texting a boy!!!!!!! Ha, and I thought you would never get a boyfriend."

"DAAAADDD!"

"Both of you shut up! Yo, give your sister her phone back and -a boy!"

"Dadddddd"

"Alright, Alright, you know the rules though, me and your mother must meet them before evolving to the dating phase."

"Oh my God."

"Never going to happen," Yo chimed in with a sing-song voice, earning himself a scolding from Dad.

Other than my crippling social anxiety—expertly concealed beneath confidence—nothing's wrong with me. Scratch that; my quirk could be seen as pretty beneficial, but man, keeping it in check is like trying to balance a cat on a unicycle.
I distinctly remember that one time I got so scared my heart sped up so much that I almost died.

Long story short pranks involving spiders were banned in my household.

Lately, I've been getting these faint lightheaded spells.

Dad said that I probably needed to consume more calories, as if my food intake, already suitable for a small army, wasn't substantial enough.
Elementary school was a time when kids found endless amusement in poking fun at my hearty appetite and peculiar eating style. Hence, I stick to solo lunches. As I finished the last bite, I ventured into the cafeteria.

Well, this is awkward. Maybe I should've done the speed-eating thing. At least then I wouldn't be standing in the cafeteria like a dumbass.

I can always just run out

Navigating through the bustling cafeteria, I spotted Shoto sitting alone at a table. His distinctive hair made him easy to find in the crowd. Seemed like he preferred having some space during lunch too.

"Hi Shoto"

He jumped a bit, nearly choking on his soba. "Hello Hayame. Where've you been?"

"Just got a bit lost, big school you know?" I replied, trying to play it off.

He looked at me with a mix of confusion and concern, probably wondering how someone could get lost so easily. Especially a future hero.

'why do I have to be such an awkward piece of shit?'

"So, what do you think of U.A. so far?" I asked Shoto while taking my water bottle out.

"It's been as expected, although I hoped for a slightly easier English class or maybe a better teacher. President Mic is a good person, but English is a challenging language, and he's not making it any easier" he replied, his tone calm and composed.

"Hmm, well, if you ever need help, I know English pretty well. I've got some family living in England," I offered, flashing a casual smile, I quickly put out my small packet of powered IV to dissolve into my water.
