Leon and I found ourselves in an old laboratory, stumbling upon the hidden secrets of the Mysterious Bioweapon, codenamed Verdugo. As we delved deeper into the facility, we discovered that this creature had a vulnerability to Liquid Nitrogen, which immediately piqued my interest.
Disgusted by the other horrifying experiments conducted in the lab, I pressed on, determined to uncover more. Suddenly, I heard the unmistakable sounds of the approaching Verdugo from above, and it became clear that we were being hunted.
Reacting swiftly, Leon pressed a button, triggering the release of Liquid Nitrogen through the pipes. A plan quickly formed in my mind. As the Verdugo attacked us, I utilized the liquid nitrogen to weaken the creature, while Leon urgently called for the elevator.
With a sense of urgency, Leon managed to scramble into the elevator just in time, and I followed suit as the gates closed behind us. However, the relentless Verdugo rammed into the closing gate, desperate to reach us. Gripping my revolver tightly, I aimed it at the monster, knowing that it wouldn't be enough to kill it, but wanting to release my pent-up frustration.
"Screw you!" I shouted, pulling the trigger and delivering a powerful shot that knocked the Verdugo back momentarily. Though I knew it wouldn't be the end of the creature, the act allowed me to temporarily vent my frustration and defiance.
Suddenly, I noticed the tell-tale signs of the parasitic infection manifesting as wavy black lines on Leon's arms. He dropped to his knees, muttering incoherently as if he were seeing the world through someone else's eyes.
As the elevator doors opened, revealing Luis standing there, he attempted to lighten the tense situation with a joke, shaking a box in his hand. "I'll make it cheap for you," he said, offering it to me. I quickly brought Leon over to a nearby pallet, gently sitting him down, and then injected him with one of the medicines.
To my relief, Leon's condition appeared to stabilize, and he visibly felt better. Luis, flicking his lighter in a casual manner, asked, "Feel better?"
"Yeah, seems like it worked," Leon responded, checking his arms for any lingering signs of the infection.
Luis nodded gravely. "Bad news. All we've done is buy you some time," he informed us, his expression serious. "The suppressant's effects will wear off sooner than we'd like."
Taking a deep breath, I grabbed one of the medicine needles and stated firmly, "Ashley is our priority now."
The three of us pressed forward, although I couldn't shake my wariness towards Luis due to his past involvement with Umbrella. However, he insisted that he was determined to make amends for his past mistakes.
As our trio approached a small grate leading to another area, Leon, ever the action-taker, kicked it off its hinges, granting us access.
"After you, I insist," Luis remarked, crossing his arms with a smirk.
"Such a gentleman," Leon replied sarcastically, gesturing for me to go first.
But just as I was about to crawl through the opening, a colossal monster emerged from the depths and grabbed hold of Leon. Acting quickly, I grabbed onto Leon's hand, while Luis seized his other hand.
With a tremendous force, we were all pulled into a massive dome-shaped room. I managed to land on my feet, and Luis wasted no time, opening fire to make the giant monster release its grip on Leon.
"Now you owe me," Luis quipped, a hint of satisfaction in his voice.
But there was no time to celebrate. I shouted a warning as I grabbed Luis by his jacket, yanking him out of harm's way, narrowly avoiding a fierce attack from a second giant monster.
