THE EVE is the first full album of the soloist Aurora. It was released on June 3, 2019, under Big Hit Entertainment.
It is called Aurora's most successful comeback and her most successful album, after her debut EP.
Aurora wrote all eight songs with the help of PDogg, Teddy Park, Kenzie, B.I., J.Y.Park, and Ed Sheeran.
The music video for the main track PSYCHO premiered on June 9, 2019, on HYBE MUSIC's official YouTube channel.
CHAPTER ONE: THE EVE as a whole E.P. sold over 1,000,000 copies. It sold 30,000 on the first day of sales, a feat for a considered "rookie" idol.
PSYCHO as a main track debuted at No.1 on Gaon Digital Chart and garnered 9,822,160 streams within 24 hours.
Though competing with other big names releasing in the summer, like I.U., critics cited the main track as one of the best K-pop songs of that year. The song charted at No.1 in Singapore and North America, where it was the idol's third No.1 song on the Billboard World Digital Songs chart and tied Aurora with I.U. as the soloist with the most top-10 entries on the ranking. It peaked at number two in Malaysia for three consecutive weeks on South Korea's Gaon Digital Chart. The song also charted at number 10 on the New Zealand Hot Singles chart and spent one week at number 99 on the component U.K. Singles Downloads Chart, marking the group's U.K. chart debut. As of now, it has over 393,070,139 streams on Spotify.
GOGOBEBE debuted at No.7 on Gaon Digital Chart and garnered 8 million streams within 24 hours. It also debuted at No.9 on BillboardHot 100. It also scored 348,096,726 on Gaon Digital Score. It also debuted at No.9 on the Melon chart, while the overall album debuted at No.5, and both song + albums peaked at No.2 on the Melon. As of now, it has over 110,231,481 streams on Spotify.
LOVE TO HATE ME debuted at No.6 on Gaon Digital Chart and K-pop Hot 100. It also debuted at No.3 on the Melon chart and peaked at No.1 on Melon. It also peaked at No.4 on the Billboard World Digital Songs Sales chart and Billboard Japan Hot 100, No.8 and 17 on Oricon Digital Singles and RMNZ Hot Singles, respectively. In April 2020, LOVE TO HATE ME earned Silver streaming certification for surpassing 30 million streams on the Oricon Streaming Singles Chart from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ). The song ranked No.5 on Dazed's 20 Best K-pop Songs 2019. Billboard also included LOVE TO HATE ME in their best K-pop songs of the 2010s list.
BOYS LIKE YOU debuted at No.4 on Gaon Digital Chart and garnered 6,680,080 streams within 24 hours. In the U.S., the song debuted at number 19 on the Billboard; the following week, the song peaked at number 8. As of now, it has 84,053,992 streams on Spotify.
