Two years had passed since Millie's recommendation and the promise of a potential position at Blitzo's I.M.P. company.

During that time, I continued to grow and hone my skills, both as a demon and as a guardian of the farmhouse. The anticipation of joining the ranks of human hunters at I.M.P. had kept me motivated and eager for the opportunity.

On a particularly sunny morning, my thoughts were interrupted by the insistent ringing of the farmhouse phone. I quickly picked it up, my deep, resonant voice resonating through the receiver. "Hello?"

Millie's voice came through, laced with excitement. "Emberfang, it's Millie! Blitzo finally got around to hiring you! He wants you to come to the I.M.P. building right away."

My heart raced with anticipation. "Thanks, Millie! I'll be there in a flash!"

As I prepared to leave for the city, my mind raced with excitement and a hint of nervousness. This was it – the moment I had been waiting for. I was about to join the ranks of I.M.P., a dream that had seemed distant for so long.

In a flashback, the scene shifted to that moment when Millie had called me with the news. Her voice had been filled with pride and excitement as she shared the long-awaited opportunity. The flashback faded, and I found myself standing in front of the I.M.P. building, a towering structure that emanated both chaos and opportunity.

With determined steps, I entered the building, a sense of anticipation building within me. The reception area was surprisingly quiet. I couldn't help but feel a mix of awe and curiosity as I gazed around the office, wondering what awaited me in this new chapter of my life.

My arrival didn't go unnoticed, and a pair of crimson eyes locked onto mine. Across the room, I saw her – Loona, the receptionist with her dry wit and sharp tongue. Our gazes met, and for a moment, time seemed to stand still.

We just stared at each other, a palpable tension in the air. I could see a hint of nervousness in her eyes, and she quickly looked away, pretending to busy herself with her work.

With a feeling of curiosity and a hint of amusement, I decided to break the silence. "Well, aren't you the welcoming type?"

Loona cleared her throat, her voice slightly shaky as she fumbled for the phone. "I-I'll... uh, tell Blitzo you're here."

I couldn't help but chuckle softly at her nervousness. "Take your time."

As Loona dialed Blitzo's extension, I couldn't help but wonder about the adventures and challenges that awaited me in this new role. I was eager to meet Blitzo, the chaotic leader of I.M.P., and to prove myself as a valuable addition to the team.

Moments later, the door to Blitzo's office swung open, and a disheveled, hungover demon emerged. His crimson eyes squinted in the harsh office light, and he let out a string of colorful curses. "Why the fuck are all the lights so bright?!"

However, as his eyes fell upon me, a look of awe and surprise overtook his hangover-induced grumpiness. He stood frozen for a moment, taking in my imposing size and presence.

I extended a hand, my tone confident. "You must be Blitzo. I'm Emberfang, and I'm here to join I.M.P. under Millie's recommendation."

Blitzo blinked in awe, shaking off his initial stupor. "Uh... yeah! Yeah, that's me! I'm Blitzo! Welcome to the team, Emberfang! You're... impressive."

As Blitzo rushed forward to shake my hand, he couldn't help but notice Loona, who had been watching the exchange with a mixture of curiosity and something else he couldn't quite place.

He shot her a bemused glance but decided not to comment on her staring. Instead, he turned back to me, an excited grin forming on his face. "Well, Emberfang, let's get you settled in. There's a lot of human hunting to be done, and I have a feeling you're going to fit right in."

With Loona's gaze still lingering on me, I couldn't help but feel that my journey with I.M.P. was about to become even more interesting and unpredictable than I had imagined.
