I woke up the next day at 4:00 am with the realization that i never finished my homework. "Shit. " I mumbled rolling out of bed. I always wake up at 4:00 am just in case I forgot to do my homework from the night before.
I have never turned any assignment in late if my whole 11 years of school. I've always been a straight A student. Back then I just did all of my work because I thought it was fun but now, I do it so I can get scholarships to get away from my dad.
After my homework I decided to go take a shower so I would smell better. I stayed under the frostbitten water as I scrubbed my face and whole body to try and wash the bad memories of pain away.
30 minutes later I got a text. I walked over to my phone and looked down at the contact that read 'Brad'. I smile so wide at the unexpected text.
Brad- Hey beautiful! ;)
Me- hey!
Brad- are you excited for tonight?
Me- very!:)
Brad- I'm glad you are:)
Me- Me too:) about that what should I wear? Something fancy or laid back?
Brad- Ummm something comfy will do;)
Me- Ok sounds good to me:) so can I know this special place we are going?
Brad- Nope;) you'll just have to wait and see!
I hate surprises but I'm willing to wait and find out when we get there for him. He was so nice to me. He called me beautiful. I was so excited for tonight that nothing was going to get in my way of having fun.

I invited my best friend Jennifer over. She was one of the average popular girls at my school. She didn't care if she was or not though and that's why I loved her. She would always talk to me about things going on with my father. She is the only one I have ever told besides my aunt.
"Hey girl!" She cheered as she came in through my window. That was our thing. I couldn't risk my father being a douche to her as she walked through the house so I always kept my window opened for her.
"Hey!" I said with a big grin on my face.
She always had a smile on her face that would light is the whole room. Her chocolate brown hair and honey eyes would always make me feel so at home."Are you ready to be looking fine?" She spoke as a wide smirk took place on her tan face.
"That's gonna be pretty hard." I said as I chuckled.
"Don't be silly, Hayley, you are h-o-t HOT!" She said with a completely serious face.
I cracked up laughing and she just gave me a disapproving look.
"Hayley I just wish you could see what I see." She said shaking her head and sitting on my bed.
"Oh come on don't get down in the dumps over me!" I said smiling to reassure her that I was ok. I'm really not though and she could see that. She just stared at me.
"Hayley, you are so freaking gorgeous and so smart! I don't know why you can't see that." She said looking me straight in the eyes.
My eyes started to tear up. "You are such an amazing friend." I spoke as she got up and embraced me in a huge hug.
"I know I know and that's why you love me!" She said with a slight giggle at the end.
After a few hours of us rambling on about what has been going on in our lives I started to pick out my outfit. Of course I gave up and Jennifer had started to look for me. She picked out some black yoga pants and a cute sweater with my white converse. I absolutely LOVED it on me. It covered all of my stomach rolls and made me look actually slender for once.
She curled my hair and let it messily hang on my back and shoulders. My makeup was super subtle because I hated wearing makeup. I had a peachy skin tone eyeshadow to make my green eyes pop with mascara and a little wing of eyeliner. I for once felt very good about my appearance.
"Oh. My. Goodness. Jennifer I feel amazing in this!!" I exclaimed as I stood in the bathroom mirror.
"You look it too!" She said back as she looked me up and down.
I walked back to my bed and sat down as I thanked her for everything.
She hurried and left so she didn't get caught by my dad if he saw me leave and heard her upstairs.A few minutes later I saw Brad pull up in front of my house. I hurried up and snuck out of the window and hopped in his car.
"Hey!" I said as he looked at me and back at the house.
"Sneaky one are you?" He said with a smirk.
"Yep I have to because I'm actually not aloud to talk to boys." I lied. I felt bad for lying to him but I didn't want him to find out about my father.
"I'm not going to get beat up if he finds out am I?" He said jokingly.
In my head I wanted to say hopefully but just said "No he'll just have to get over it." instead with a little wink.
He just laughed in return and started our way to the date.
We sat in a few minutes of silence before he spoke again.
"You look great tonight." He said flickering his eyes from me to the road.
"Why thank you! You don't look too shabby yourself." I said smirking at him. He let out the cutest laugh I have ever heard and looked back at the road.
15 minutes passed by and we pulled up in front of a movie theatre. He turned off the ignition and turned his body towards me. He just looked at me for a minute. I couldn't help but feel very self conscious under his look. I slightly shifted uncomfortably. i hope he didn't notice.
"You look like the type of girl to like Disney movies." He said confidently.
"Man you read me like a book!" I said as I giggled thankfully that he finally said something. I couldn't get over how cute he was.
He smiled and looked at his hands.
"Your laugh is so cute." He said as he looked up in my eyes again.
"Well thank you!" I said as a shade of pink showed on my cheeks.
"No problem! How about we go in and get our tickets?" He said.
"Sounds perfect!" I said as I open the door to get out.
He waited for me by the hood of the car and held his hand out to me. I grabbed it and interlaced our fingers together. As I did this I got that same weird fuzzy feeling in my stomach again. I'm not too sure why that keeps happening. I hope i'm not getting sick.
"So, what movie do you want to watch?" He asked me with a shimmer in his eyes.
"Umm what about 'Inside Out'?" I said as I scanned the rows of new movies out tonight.
"Yay!! I really wanted to see that one!" He said like a little kid. I just giggle at him. I couldn't stop smiling when I was around him. It felt nice for a change.
