Song: THE CRANBERRIES - JUST MY IMAGINATION

When people find out that they're demigods, they think it's some big miracle, but guess what! It's not. You would spend your entire life running away from monsters, and fighting for your life. At least, that's what's it's like in my eyes.

Let me introduce myself. Hi, my name is Aggelos Peterson. I know it's a strange name, but my dad says my mother picked it out for me. I never met my mother. My dad said she left us when I was born. He never told me why. He avoids the subject, but when I push some out of him he always says:

            "She had a gift."

I used to be a normal average girl - As normal as you can get- but on one day, my whole life changed.

It all started on one rainy day, here in Ottawa. My friends Hermia, Demetrius and I were walking to school together like we always did. None of us had rain coats, or umbrellas sadly, making us have to race to school.

Let me tell you some things about my friends you should know. Hermia always smiles. There isn't really a time I've seen her frown, maybe once in the whole time I've known her, and she's the best athlete in the school. She is also incredible with animals. I don't know how she does it, but somehow she can make any animal do whatever she wants, she says the animals talk to her but no one believes her (She was almost sent to a mental hospital) and she loves the outdoors, mostly the night because of the moon. I met Hermia in first grade, and she's my oldest and dearest friend.

Then there's Demetrius. He is very strong like one of those muscle men you see in the circus, and he looks like it. He's got a lot of muscles. The best part is he could make anything out of metal. I had just met him this year, so I don't know much about him. I have heart racing feelings when he is around though.

We went to Bridgeway Middle School for troubled kids. Why do I go to a troubled kid's school? Because I always got kicked out of school, any school really. Once because some teacher told me to give her back her sword, but hey I was only three, I didn't know that was a SWORD! How did I get a sword in the first place is the question? I have no idea. The better question is why the teacher had a sword in the first place!?

Today was the last day of school. If I make it through today I have past one full year without getting kicked out for some bizarre reason. I couldn't wait. This was going to make my dad so proud of me!

Once we got to campus we were dripping wet. My strawberry blond curly hair was now dark brown, Hermia's chestnut brown wavy hair was now black and Demetrius' burnt black messy hair -at least I think it was burnt- was still black but soaked. Also our uniforms - blue preppy shirts and skirts for the girls (which Hermia and I hated) and preppy pants for the boys- were soaking wet. Cold wet water dripped off my hair and down my neck making me flinch as we entered the building.

We walked through the front doors just in time to hear the first bell ring above us.

"Thank god we made it."  Hermia panted squeezing the water off her long hair as we walked in to get to our lockers, before math class with Mr. Don.

If you've ever wanted to know what it's like in my school in the morning, it's like a zoo pretty much only the animals are not in cages, but outside roaming around. Kids would be running around, bones were being broken, and it was hard to get around.

One more year with these idiots! One more year... then I'm off my own way. I told myself over and over again. The sad part about my school was there was a new bully target every month.
