Five years later....
Mom asked me,
"Flameheart, why do you look so sad today?"
"I miss Grandma and Grandpa. Today a couple years ago Grandma passed away and then Grandpa passed away a year later.....did you forget?!"
"Oh sweaty...we didn't forget! We aren't sad because knowing them they would want you to be happy, not sad that they died!"
"That's true....I'm glad you didn't forget or I would have been pissed!"
"Also to be honest we don't react that sad when one of us dies.....fairies have short lives compared to other supernaturals and people. I keep having to remind myself that you are actually a phoenix and are used to how other cultures do things."
"That's true!"
Dad then asked,
"Why didn't you act sad when my parents' death day came up? Don't you miss my parents too?"
I then said,
"Not as much....they weren't as nice to me after I started talking!"
"It's called tough love!"
"I know but it still bothered me! Well I'm glad I told them that I was a phoenix before they died. Surprisingly they didn't seem very mad about it. They were shocked but not mad. Carina did say she thought something was different about me. Sol also said it seemed like we were lying about something also. They understood why we didn't tell them right away and didn't seem to care that I was a phoenix."
Mom then said,
"To be honest I was surprised too."
Dad then said,
"Not you too!"
We all laughed and I was about to say something when I heard a knock at the door. We all looked at each other and my mom said,
"Who could that be? Were either of you expecting someone? I don't remember inviting  anyone over!"
We both nodded our head no. I then thought for a second and said,
"Knowing how my friends are, I bet they want to hang out."
My dad chuckled and said,
"They do like their surprise visits."
"I'll go see who it is then. You never know it might not be my friends."
I got up and opened the door and looked out and sure enough I saw it was one of my friends Poppy. Poppy was around my age and was a little taller than me. He has green wings and short green hair and has brown eyes. Poppy then said,
"Hi! I wanted to ask if you wanted to hang out?"
I sighed and said,
"Couldn't you have sent a magic massage before you came here?"
"What's the fun in that? I love surprising you!"
"What if I were busy?"
"You never are...."
I sighed and said,
"One of these days you'll interrupt me doing something important and it will get you killed!"
Poppy rolled his eyes and said,
"Hasn't happened yet so doubt it!"
"We still have around fifteen years together so you never know!"
He groaned and said,
"So are you coming or not?"
"Ugggg fine let me tell my parents. I'll meet you at our secret hideout."
"See you soon!"
A couple minutes later....
I flew up high and looked around me to make sure I wasn't being followed. I then listened closely just in case to make sure no one was hiding and I couldn't see them. When I was completely sure I wasn't being followed I went into a hole in the tree and saw my friends sitting on small wooden chairs around a small wooden table. I saw Poppy sitting on the chair closest to the entrance. I saw Zia sitting to the right of Poppy. Zia looked to be around the age seven and is a little taller than Poppy. She has long silver hair and silver eyes. Her wings were also silver. I then looked and saw Ares sitting across from Zia. Ares looked to be around the age six and he was a little shorter than me. He has short blue hair and light blue eyes. His wings are dark blue at first but the color lightens as it gets closer to the middle of the wing. I still think his wings are beautiful to this day. I hope they stay like that even as he gets older. I then went to the farthest chair from the entrance across from Poppy and sat down and said,
"Hi everyone! Sorry it took me a couple minutes to get here."
Poppy then said,
"That's fine. At least you came!"
I groaned and said,
"There was one time I didn't come when asked because I was actually busy and you still brought it up!"
Poppy chuckled and said,
"Well I only bring it up because your reactions are so funny when I do! You did say you were busy when I asked you to come so we assumed you weren't coming!"
I sighed and said,
"Now you tell me! I shouldn't have reacted to every time you brought it up then!"
"That's why I didn't want to tell you because I knew you would stop reacting to it!"
I flashed a smile and said,
"Well to bad! You told me now!"
Poppy groaned and said,
"Darn it!"
Zia chuckled and said,
"Since Poppy's frustrated, let's talk about something else to get his mind off of it like crushes!"
I groaned and said,
"Aren't we to young to talk about crushes?"
They looked at me weirdly and Ares said,
"What do you mean? We got married usually around seven to ten years old. I think talking about crushes is very appropriate, don't you think?"
"I guess but what if I don't have any crushes?"
"Everyone has some sort of crush on someone."
"Well I don't and I don't even want to marry anyways...."
They looked at me shocked and Ares said,
"Everyone wants to have a family though!"
I sighed and said,
"Well I don't want one."
"Why not?! I bet you got a lot of offers to marry from a lot of boys!"
I groaned and said,
"It was a pain to get those offers because I didn't like hurting their feelings and saying no. I also don't think it's a good idea for me to start a family anyways..."
They all looked confused and Poppy asked,
"Why isn't it a good idea?"
"Ummmm...."
Oops what do I say!?
