I'm finally back, about a year ago I was sent to live with my aunt in Wisconsin because my parents couldn't deal with my anymore. But I'm back, finally back in California.
It feels weird though, I'm afraid all my friends and acquaintances will have forgotten about me. When I was in Wisconsin I had no way to get ahold of anyone other than my parents so let's just say I haven't talked to anyone in about a year. But it's my senior year and I'm back.
"Ashley!! Get ready for school, I don't want you being late!" My mom screamed from downstairs.
"I know!" I was pretty much done getting ready accept for the fact that I haven't gotten clothes on. I quickly walked to my closet and picked out a blue dress that was right on the top and flared on the bottom with a sweetheart neck line. I paired it with a pair of black sandals and my purse.
"Shit!" I mumbled as I looked for my keys.
"Mom, where are my car keys?" I asked as I walked into the living room.
"On the kitchen counter?" She said confused as to why I asked her. "You need to keep track of them or I'm going to take your car away, and give your brother a ride too!" I groaned as I remembered Jackson crashed his car about a month ago.
You see Jackson and I are both senior, he got held back in 8th grade due to his pranks around the school.
"Jackson, hurry up or you're walking to school!" I slowly walked out of the house getting into my car and setting my backpack in the back seat. I soon Jackson running out about dropping his iPhone.
"Dumbass" I whispered to myself and I turned the car on.
"I saw you mumble that, Ashley." He glared at me and buckled his seat belt.
"Well, it's true and you know it."
"Well anyways, are you excited for your first day?" He genuinely asked me, we were pretty much there just one more light.
"Idk, I'm actually pretty nervous. I haven't seen these people since the beginning of junior year." I shook my head. "What if no one remembers me, Jackson?" I gave him a quick glance as I parked the car.
"I don't see why they would forget you, lots of people leave and come back and they seem alright."
"I guess I'll just have to see"
