(Knox's POV)

As the oldest son of the Alpha, I am held to a higher standard and am expected to be the best. An alpha is the leader of the pack and is the person who all pack members look up to and respect. I am supposed to be that person, but I am twenty-one now and without a mate I cannot become Alpha.

My wolf Damian has been getting more temper mental here recently and due to that it is making it harder to get through the day. I finally decide to get up and get ready. Last week my dad finally let the pack know that a number of us would be attending training school for a few weeks and today is the day we leave.

"Come on Son, you need to be leaving" my dad calls out as he passes my door. I grab my bags and head out of the pack house and meet Marcus, Madison, and Theo by the car. Marcus will be my future Beta along with Madison his mate by his side. Theo will be my future Gamma. A Beta is the second-in-command so If something ever happens to me, he will take over the pack until my heir becomes of age. The Gammas role in the pack is to be the protector of the Luna at all times. Most of the time the gamma and Luna will become friends because they spend so much time together.

"Hey man you ready to go?" Marcus asks. "Yeah, I'm ready" I say to him as I am hoping in the car. Marcus is driving today, and Madison is in the passenger seat. Madison works in the pack hospital and she is coming along to help the doctors on site teach combat medicine.

"Hey Knox, are you okay?" Theo asks. "Yeah, I'm good why?" I look at him curious now. Theo has always been more sensitive to my emotions which is annoying but good at the same time since he is going to be the gamma. "Your scent is going all over the place and I can't get a good read on you right now." I look at him now and study his face and he seems really worried, so I sigh and say, "It's my wolf something has his emotions so messed up and I have tried talking to him about it but all he says is you will see soon."

"huh" is all Theo says before gazing out to the tree line. We are all quite after that just letting the calmness flow through all of us.

We when get to the campus as soon as I get out, I am hit with the most amazing smell and it makes my wolf go crazy. "Knox follow it" Damian says. Before I can do exactly that it is gone. I shake my head and lead the pack to our tour guide. She gives us a tour of campus before we finally end up in the Dorm building.

I head up to my dorm room and thankfully I don't have a roommate. No alphas have roommate because the only people who can handle our dominance all the time is our mates. I am on floor four with all of the other Future pack alphas, betas, and gammas. I look around the room which has a king bed situated in the middle of the room and two doors opposite the bed. On the back wall across form the door is huge floor-to-ceiling window.

As I am looking around, I notice a packet on the bed. I read over the first couple of pages and it is just the general information given to all members, but the third page is strictly for the group leaders.

Welcome group leaders!

7:00- 8:00 ~Leadership Meeting

8:15-10:00 ~ Group training/Pair's Training with wolf training on the Training field

10:15-11:00 ~ Lunch in dorm building

11:15-1:00~ Leadership Meeting

1:15- 3:00~ Pyramid challenges

Leadership Meeting:

During these times you will meet with the other group leaders during this time in the dining room. During the 7-8 time slot you will discuss training methods, Skills, etc. that you are going to be teaching you students. This time is for all packs to come together to help improve all trainees. During 11:15-1:00 you will meet back with the other leaders to discuss how you think the trainees are doing and start deciding ranks for these students in your perspective groups. You will also be helping sort your trainees into their slot in the pyramid challenged.

Pyramid Challenges:

For these you will have instructors to help you with these but some of you will help demonstrate how these will go tomorrow. When choosing where you want your people to go you put them in the group that best fits them. For instance, you do not want an alpha in a pyramid with a low-ranking wolf.

First day meeting 7-8:

Please report to the challenge arena thirty minutes early to receive your group color and arm band.

Thank you and Goodluck Group leaders!

After I finish reading the packet and get settled in it is time for dinner in the dining hall, so I head down and meet with Marcus and Theo. "There you are! I thought I was going to have to come drag you down here to eat" Marcus says laughing a little. "You know I would never skip a meal" I say back laughing we head in and I am hit with a whiff of that smell from earlier. It smells like Honey with a hint of cinnamon and it makes my mouth-water but again before I can look around and try to find the source it's gone.

"Hey guys did you smell that?" I ask Marcus and Theo which they both reply no too. We get in line and get our food before headed to the table that is designated to the future pack leaders. Due to our pack warrior leader having to stay on pack grounds I am the head of the pack while we are at school and that carriers a lot of weight. I have. Feeling my dad did this to test me and see if I would arise to the occasion.

Shaking my head to get out of my inner monologue I sit down with Marcus to my left and seated next to him is his mate Madison. To my right is Theo normally my mate would sit on the right side, which is the custom for all alpha mated pairs, If I had a mate, they would be seated in between me and Theo since it is his duty to protect them. Next to Theo is Jacob my future pack warrior leader. Me and Jacob are not as close, but we are getting there. Pack warrior leader is not a position I get to choose but most of the time the become a close friend to the alpha since it is his job to protect me.

After dinner I hold my had up so the pack knows to wait while the other packs clear out. Once that happens, I stand up to talk with the pack members that are here. "Good evening everyone I hope you have settled in nicely to your dorms." I get a bow of the head from everyone. "Now, tomorrow is a big day for all of us. We want to make our pack proud. Now while I will have my own group of trainees, that will possibly be from another pack, Myself, Marcus, Theo, and Jacob will be keep an eye on all of you to see how you progress. Good luck and goodnight!" as I finish, I get a chorus of "Yes Alpha." While it shocks me at first, it is not unexpected since I am the highest-ranking member here that have to address me as such.

As I walk out of the dining hall, I smell cinnamon and honey again, so I start to follow it this time. Before I can get too far Theo ask, "Hey Knox where are you going?" Not really paying too much attention I just call back "I'm just going outside for some air I'll meet you upstairs" I don't wait around for his reply. He must've have left me alone because I no longer hear him following me.

I'm hit again by that smell and am so drawn to it even my wolf is paying attention to it. We continue following the smell outside and we start to look around and we I see a girl stand about twenty feet away she looks up and we lock eyes.

Damian immediately perks up and starts trying to take control to get to her. This mystery girl who I can't see clearly but I know the scent has to lead to her. I am doing everything I can to hold Damian back and I realize that I am growling. It startles me at first and I start paying attention again to what I am doing. I have unconsciously moved closer to her, but I realize she must've been moving towards me to. I take the last few steps towards her and when I finally take her all in, I say the one word that could change everything. I say the word I have been wishing to say to the right person for years. I look into her eyes as I say "Mate."
