Griffin pov:

*RINGGG*
I hear the bell signaling that it's FINALLY lunch time. I grab my textbooks and shove them down into my backpack. I sling my backpack over my shoulder and head out the classroom and over to the cafeteria. The sounds of talking as I approach the cafeteria get louder and louder. I get to the cafeteria and look around before a familiar face waves me down, signaling to go over to where they are. I walk over as someone greets me. "Hey Griffin!" They say. "Hey Finney!" I reply back as I take a seat next to him. "So, I was wondering if you wanted to go the beach with us! It'll be super fun!" He asks. "Sure! But i'll have to ask my mom if I could go." I say. "Okay, sweet!" He replies.

The school day ends and I start walking out the school. Vance told me he was gonna hang with Bruce till it was time for them to go to the beach so I'll just walk on my own today. As I was about to leave school grounds a bike stopped me. "Hey Griff!" I hear the person say. I look to my right to see Billy on his bike. "Oh! Hey Bill! You headin' home too?" I say. "Yup! I was wondering if you were gonna go to beach with us later! I'm coming, so I was wondering if you are too!" He asks. "Hopefully! I gotta ask my mom for permission tho" I say. "Oh, okay! See ya later Griff!" He says. "See ya Billy!" I shout.

I approach the front door and open it with the spare keys I have. I step inside and place my shoes near the door. "Hey sweetie! How's school?" My mother yells. I walk to the living room to see her sitting on the couch watching some sort of comedy movie. "Hey Mom! School was good" I reply. "That's great! I'll start making lunch soon if you're hungry." She says. "Well, I was wondering if I come go to the beach with Vance and his friends? Pleasee?" I ask. "Sure honey, just be careful alright?" She states. "Of course mom! Thank you!" I say. I walk over to the couch and give her a kiss on the cheek.

I walk upstairs to my room to pack for the beach trip. I open my closet and grab some swimming trunks, extra shorts and a shirt, sunblock, and sunglasses. I get an extra backpack and stuff all my things into it. Wait a minute. How am I supposed to even get there if Vance is ay Bruce's? I guess I'll call Billy to ask him how he's gonna get to the beach. I walk over to the telephone and dial in his house's phone number.

*RINGGG, RINGGG, RING-*

"Hello, Showalter residents speaking" I hear Billy say. "Hey Bill! I was just wondering how you're gonna get to the beach?" I ask. "Oh hey Griff! My Dad is actually gonna take me. You needa ride?" He says. "Yes please! My address is ****** , thanks Billy!" I state. "Of course! We'll see ya then!" He replies. I hang up the phone, grab my backpack, and walk to the front door to wait for Billy and his dad to pick me up. I wait for a few minutes until a red lowrider pulls up in front of me. The car's window rolls down as Billy yells for me to get into the car. I open the car door and get in the backseat with Billy. "I can't wait to go to the beach! It's gonna be so fun!" Billy exclaims. I smile and nod at him, and he exchanges the smile as well. "So, you're Griffin right? I've heard a lot of great things about you" Billy's dad says. "Yup! That's me sir!" I say. Wait, great things about me? Billy's been talking about me to his dad? I feel my face heat up as the car grows silent.

The car comes to a halt and me and Billy take off our seatbelts. "Thank you Mr. Showalter!" I say. "Of course have fun! And stay safe!" He replies. "We will dad! Thank you, and bye!" Billy says. We get our stuff from the car and start walking to the beach.
