I woke up and Melanie was still in my arm asleep. I stroked her cheek and her eyes fluttered open. "Morning sunshine." I said. She smiled and said "sorry I didn't mean to fall asleep." "Oh no it's fine." I said. She stood up and stretched I did the same. She walked to a mirror hanging by the t.v and fixed her bun.
She caught me staring and said "take a picture it will last longer you creep." As she laughed and returned to fixing her hair. I rolled my eyes and plopped onto the couch. She came and sat next to me. "Ready for dinner?" I asked. "Sure where to?" She asked looking into my eyes. " want to go to a little cafe?" I asked "sounds nice." She said with a smile. "The. Let's get going." I said standing up. We headed out to my truck.

Melanie's p.o.v.
We arrived to the cafe. A young lady showed up to our table and I looked at the menu. I ordered a b.l.t Joe did the same. "So." Joe said looking a little nervous. "What." I said laughing. "Nothing sorry it was just quite." He said. I could tell he was not telling me something but I just let it slide. We made small talk for about 20 min then out food came out. "Yum" I said licking my lips. "You are such a child." Joe said smiling. " a very fun child." I corrected. He laughed at my stupid joke and we ate dinner.

Joes p.o.v
I payed for the meal and stood up. "Want to go on a walk around the pond?" I asked. " sure sounds very nice." Mel said. We were walking in the dark with only the moon as a light. We stopped walking. "Umm Melanie I need to tell you something." I said looking at my shoes. "Sure anything."she said tilting my head up with her hand. " I don't know how to say this to you because you mean so much to me." I said looking at her ocean water blue eyes. " Joe it's ok you can tell me anything I will never leave your side you are my best friend." She said. "That's the problem, we're best friend." I said tearing up. " Joe what's wrong." She said looking worried. " I really really like you Melanie, and I...I just. Ugh" I said then I grabbed her face and brought it to my lips I kissed her she kissed back she grabbed my shirt pulling me closer to her. I wrapped my hands around her small waist and she ran her fingers through my hair. We pulled back. " I fell the same way." She said biting her lip.
