"THE DEAD ARE WALKING!"
It had been the same headline on every news broadcast for days. You couldn't get away from it, until finally...you did.
Corey Hayes had been sitting in the living room with her parents when the news went silent, when they stopped talking about the walking dead.
It was only weeks later that that same living room was filled with the screams of Corey's parents as they told her to run.
And so she did. She spent the next couple of weeks wandering the world alone, hiding from the dead and searching for any sign of life. And as she travelled─with bleeding feet and aching bones─her hope dwindled. She thought she would die out there─scared and alone, with nothing but the screams of her dead parents to keep her company.
Until finally, she encountered a boy.
And it was that boy that led to her salvation.

AUTHOR'S NOTE
Okay, so since I've recently done a rewatch of The Walking Dead, I've been inspired to write this. I'm actually really excited about this story and I can't wait for people to read it. Also, I would just like to let everyone know that Corey is around the age of 23 in this. I will also be posting the first chapter tomorrow! <3
