Happy Friday 13th to all those who celebrate!! Twice in a year, now that's a record- Better yet that it happens to be October that this day falls upon :)

I won't keep you any longer, go ahead and enjoy this especially dramatic chapter!

It's the start of all the pieces falling apart <33

"Oh, hi, Hermione!"

"Hi, Parvati!" Hermione beams at the girl who was laughing at her just hours ago. "Y/n and I were just heading to the courtyard for dinner, would you like to come with us?"

"I'm almost finished here, actually," Parvati gestures to the nearly empty plate in front of her. "Oh, but you two should sit, I'm sure I can make room," she eagerly pats the space beside her.

"Thank you," Hermione replies cheerfully, completely ignoring Ron and Lavender who are busy swallowing each other's mouths a few seats down. "So, Parvati, are you going to Slughorn's party tonight?"

"No invite," says Parvati gloomily. "I'd love to go, though, it sounds like it's going to be really good... You're going, aren't you?"

"Yes, I'm meeting Theo at eight, and we're-"

There's a noise like a plunger being withdrawn from a blocked sink and Ron surfaces. I smirk at the way Hermione acts as though she didn't hear or see anything.

"We're going up to the party together."

"Theo?" says Parvati. "Theodore Nott, you mean?"

"That's right," Hermione answers. "He's rather fun to be around, actually. Conversations with him are intellectually stimulating- A welcoming change, in my opinion."

"Are you going out with him, then?" asked Parvati, wide-eyed.

"I think maybe I want to," Hermione pauses. "We started talking that day in detention, that's when I found out he's a quite pleasant person to be around." Then she gives a dreamy sigh. "Well, I should get going... Got to go get ready for the party..."

Then she walks away, leaving behind a positively scandalized looking Parvati, a horrified looking Harry, and one Ronald Weasley who stares after Hermione looking like his brain has just been reducto-ed.

"Did you set this up?" Ron turns to me furiously.

"I did, actually. Is there a problem?" I blink at him.

"Nott is the problem!"

"Relax, Ron, I wouldn't have done this if I didn't think Theo was a good person."

"A good person?" Ron wheezes. "Y/n, dunno if anyone's told you this before, but you are a really bad judge of character."

"Oh come on, Harry, back me up here."

"Leave me out of this," Harry grimaces.

"The only reason someone like Nott would ever want anything to do with Hermione is if- Well- You know-"

"Yes?" I raise an eyebrow.

"For Merlin's sake, there's no way he's got good intentions! Tell her I'm right, Harry!"

"It does seem a bit suspicious..."

"Thank you!"

"...But Y/n's not stupid, Ron, neither is Hermione, for that matter. She can take care of herself."

"Exactly, lover boy. Go back to your snogging session with Tulip here-"

"It's Lavender," Lavender says.
