Joanne's pov
We and by we I meant Kevin and I have been enjoying watching newsies and when I tell you I had the biggest shock when I finally realised that Y/N was on as Katherine I nearly fainted as she told me that she was only ensemble and not a understudie. Anyway it was interval and Kevin went to get some ice cream for us so I was left alone by our seats. I was scrolling through Instagram when I saw a message for Y/N saying 'How do you like the show so far?'
I must of took awhile to type my response as she went and said ' Joanne are you there I only have a certen amount of time before the second act starts' so I finally replied with 'it was amazing, everyone was great but especially the person playing Katherine' knowing that would set something off I didn't know if it would be good or bad 'well at least you are enjoying it, I saw you at the start of the show talking to Kevin, How is he anyway?' I saw come through after about a minute 'Kev is good still annoyed that I won strictly and you guys didn't but yea I will let you get ready to go on, will I see you at stage door after?' 'Of course' is all I got back before the lights went down signalling that act 2 is about to start.
Kevin came back at some point when I was messaging Y/N as he had a knowing look on his face. I knew I would have to deal with him while I waited after for Y/N
Y/n pov
It was going so well until I forgot a line but luckily enough Imi was in that scene with me and changed it so I wouldn't have to worry but I think my tapping went well when we did king of new york but I'm not much of a tapper and I say that even though in morning person there is a tapping break anyway we are nearing the end of the show and I'm starting to tear up even though it was ruining my makeup and I had to find a way to stop myself from crying even more
*Time skip*
It was bows and everyone in the audience was screaming and cheering for us most of them were on their feet and clapping but I was more forced on Joanne who was practically jumping up and down with excitement. Of course I was crying as it was mine, Imi and Rory's last show with newsies.
After all the bows the actors had a dance on stage so I was dancing and hugging Imi even though we will still be working together. This is it the end I never thought I would actually move on from Newsies but here I am at my last night and all I can see is Joanne smiling but looking directly at Imi and I. Imi, Rory and I all got given gifts from the cast and mine was so sweet they got me 50 pound gift card for Starbucks and some plushies as they know I love them. It was weird going into my dressing room for the last time as everything of mine was packed away and all I had to do was take off my costume and then stage door and then I'm done with Newsies.
It took me awhile as all the cast came in to congratulate me also because I couldn't stop crying. When I finally got changed I took my suitcase full of stuff from my dressing room and the gift bag and went to stage door. All of the people I met were really nice. I tried to sign as many things as I could before seeing Joanne and Kevin. Once seeing them I ran upto them dropped my bags and then took them both into a big hug. I could feel Joanne's face forming a smile and Kevin was just his goofy self. We talked for a while and then they offered to take me home. I accepted the offer as I was way too tired and if I stayed longer then I wouldn't be able to stop crying. I said to myself that I needed to text Imi and the other cast members what I'm doing.
