"I'll call you later tonight, ok? We'll go over the work together. Don't go to sleep on me." Iruo handed Mya her notes, everything she missed since she was out for days.

"Thank you. You a life saver," meaning it, Opening her bag and pulling her folder out, "Shit you can save my homeboy life and stop playin Iruo." Looking over at  Mark she scrunched her face up. "Please leave me alone."

"Damn it's like that. Give me a chance baby," His friend, Drew came with his hands up. "Never in a million at years," he wasn't ugly but she just didn't like how he acted. He was too much of a try hard.

"Anyways, how you gettin home?" Mya asked, zippering her bag back up. "Uh I'm waitin for-" cut off when Tahj walked by.

"Alright i fuck with y'all."waving and turning around, hearing them talk but she was too busy trying to get to the car. That was her ticket to free food and a ride home.

"How was your day?" Asking once they got settled, Tahj glanced at her then back at Mark and Drew. "Stay away from the niggas. You hungry?" Backing out and pulling off once he got the chance to.

Face scrunching up Iruo looked at him like he was dumb, "First of all, i asked you a question don't be ignoring me. Second of all you don't tell me who to talk to. You not my daddy and I'm gettin tired of tellin you this."

Getting caught up in afterschool traffic he sucked his teeth looking over at her, "You fuck with them don't fuck with me that's just how that go."

"What?"

"Ian into repeating myself. You starvin or?" Pressing the gas once he got out the school zone, seeing a food truck not too far up he got into his right lane.

Iruo felt herself catch an attitude, not replying to him. Just sticking her AirPods in and going to play a game on her phone, when they parked she glanced up to see him getting money out the armrest. Reading his lips asking if she wanted something for the last time, nodding she watched him mug her and get out.

It took no time for them to finish cooking their food, to her surprise he brought her home. This past week they went to his house everyday after school, "We not going to your house?" Lowering the music, looking at him confused.

"Hell nah. You got a funky ass attitude and not finna fuck up my vibe. I fuck with you later twin." Biting into his taco watching her roll her eyes, grab her food, getting out and slamming the door.

Shaking his head he made sure she got inside before driving off, not understanding why she was so mad but how Tahj was raised he wasn't taught to press someone when they had an issue. You seen someone having a bad day you would wanna leave the ass alone before they took it out on you. And that's exactly what he did.
