Chapter-18
Cyra
Here goes nothing.
After coming back to our home, we ate a delicious dinner. It was grilled chicken (my dad's favorite) and my grandmother's secret pasta (my mom's favorite). After that, we all went to bed for a small nap and decided to come down at 2 a.m., two hours before Hades was supposed to come.
So, I went to my room, set an alarm, and dozed off. I woke up at 1:30 and revised my plan. Then, I packed a small backpack with my essentials. I know Hades would probably not allow me to take it but it's worth a try, right? I packed a small photo of my family, some food, water, rope, a knife (I can't be too careful, I mean, I am going to hell), my phone, a charger (though it's probably of no use), and a few pairs of clothes.
I hid the bag under my bed and got ready a little bit. I washed my face, combed my hair and tied it in a high pony, and changed my clothes to sportswear.
I looked at the time and it was already 1.56 a.m. So I walked downstairs and met almost everyone already there. I quickly ran into my parents' arms and hugged them. Only two hours before I'll have to leave them.
After that, we talked for some time. We even took out albums and clicked lots of pictures. We wanted to make this day memorable. It took no time to already turn 3:30.
"Cyra, Violet, it's 3:30 and you should go upstairs now. Hades might come a little early and I don't want you both here when he does." My mother said.
We nodded. They had already told us about it and there was no scope of argument. Plus, I needed to go upstairs for my plan to work.
I hugged my parents one last time and kissed their cheeks before turning around to go up.
"I'll miss you so much. I love you" I said.
"We love you too sweetie. I'm sorry you had to see this." They said.
"It's okay and it's not your fault. I'm going to go upstairs now." I gave them a weak smile and made my way upstairs with Violet. We went to my room and sat on my bed.
"Hey, you okay?" she asked me.
"I think so," I said.
"You know that I'm here for you right? Whatever you need." She said and I smiled at her.
She's amazing. She's not just my cousin but also my best friend and I feel terrible for doing this to her but I have to.
"I know, but I'm alright, at least for now," I told her.
She nodded. "So, did you hear about that gossip running around in school..." she started distracting me with random stuff.
I had put on a vibrating alarm on my phone exactly two minutes before 4, so I could easily enjoy the distraction.

I saw the time and it was already 3:55 so I hugged Vi closely.
"Hey, what's that for?" she asked.
"It's almost time," I whispered.
"It's okay..shh....it's okay" she comforted me and a lone tear rolled down my cheek. I'll miss her....I'll miss all of them so much.
"Hey, umm...can you get some chips from our stash in your room? I'm way too nervous and I need a bite to calm me down." I said.
"Of course, just stay here. I'll be right back!" she said and walked out.
I quickly got to work. I pulled out my bag from under the bed and took the letter I wrote for my family and kept it on my bed. I took a deep breath and ran downstairs as quietly as possible. I could already hear voices shouting before I walked inside. I saw the time on my phone; '3:59'. Here goes nothing.
"I'll come with you instead of my parents," I yelled as I opened the door and walked inside.
"Great then! I'll take you, it's time anyway. Plus, I'm done with hearing them argue" Hades, or what I assumed was him, said.
"NOOO!" my parents yelled in unison and they growled, their wolves surfacing to protect me.
They ran to me but they were too late. Hades was already by my side and he chanted something making a magic glow ball around us, preventing my parents to reach me. Then with a zap of light, I had to close my eyes for it, and we teleported to somewhere dark. I clutched onto my stomach as I felt sick.
"It'll be fine. Just give it a few seconds. Are you ready to enter hell?" Hades said.
