As Yo-Han stood in front of Ga-On's house, the air was heavy with unspoken emotions. "What did you do with the real money?" Ga-On asked, his voice filled with curiosity and a touch of uncertainty.
"I left it right where Young-choon buried it," he replied calmly. "Like I said, people grow desperate when they think they've lost something."
As Ga-On was about to remove the cross necklace, given to him by Yo-Han as a token of their love, Yo-Han stopped him, his hand gently covering Ga-On's.
"Don't," Yo-Han whispered, his eyes locked onto Ga-On's. "Keep it as a reminder."
Yo-Han then walked back to his car and settled in. With one last look at Ga-On, he spoke softly, "Now, let's follow our own paths." With that, he drove away, leaving Ga-On with a bittersweet mixture of emotions and memories.
Ga-On watched Yo-Han's departure, tears brimming in his eyes, and fell to the ground, the tears he had been holding back now flowing freely. In the midst of his overwhelming emotions, he couldn't help but wonder, "What's the real price of redemption?"
As Ga-On walked inside he noticed an extra bag among his luggage that doesn't belong to them "Did Yo-Han accidentally leave this bag here?"
Sighing, Ga-On decided to enter his room. He began unpacking his luggage, curiosity gnawing at him. What could be inside that mysterious bag? With cautious anticipation, he unzipped it, revealing its contents.
He opened it to find a gift box for each one of Young-choon's victims. Inside each box was a substantial sum of cash-a restitution for those who had been swindled by the con-artist. Ga-On's eyes widened in astonishment as he realized the depth of Yo-Han's actions.
Back at the mansion, Yo-Han sat alone at the dinner table, his heart heavy with the absence of the meals he once shared with Ga-On. The emptiness of the room mirrored the void in his heart.
Elijah, observing the scene, couldn't contain her curiosity and concern. She wheeled closer to Yo-Han and asked, "Why did you let Ga-On leave? How could you let someone you love go once again?"
Yo-Han managed a bittersweet smile, his eyes shimmering with unshed tears, as he replied, "Ga-On had never loved me."
Elijah's laughter rang out, filled with a mix of amusement and disbelief. She countered, "I've seen the way Ga-On waited for you every night, making sure you didn't eat alone, even if it meant holding up dinner for everyone else."
"I want to see you both together," she said, her voice filled with sincerity as she wheeled away.
Yo-Han couldn't bring himself to eat, the emptiness in his heart mirrored by the untouched food before him. The hunger in his stomach paled in comparison to the ache of loneliness that consumed him.
On the other side,
Ga-On, absorbed in the act of preparing dinner, called out for Yo-Han instinctively, "Yo-Han, it's time for dinner."
For a brief moment, he almost expected to hear Yo-Han's voice in response, to see him walk into the room with a smile. But reality crashed down on him as he looked around the empty house, his voice echoing through the vacant spaces.
Ga-On's emotional exhaustion left him with no appetite. With a heavy heart, he covered the food and placed the untouched food in the refrigerator and lay down to rest, the pangs of hunger fading into the background as he drifted into a restless sleep on an empty stomach.
As Ga-On's tears eventually subsided, he gazed up at the clear morning sky, a new day dawning after the long night of emotional turmoil and revelations.
Ga-On, determined and dressed for his day in court, received a call, his heart leaping with the hope that it might be Yo-Han on the other end. However, to his surprise, it was Soo-Hyun's voice that greeted him. A warm smile crossed his face as he replied, "Good morning."
Soo-Hyun's voice was calm and composed as she instructed him, "Meet me in Justice Min's office." The unexpected call left Ga-On intrigued, wondering what this meeting might entail, and he quickly made his way to the courthouse.
Justice Min's office was an austere space, the air heavy with tension as Ga-On and Soo-Hyun stood before the stern figure of Justice Min. His face was etched with anger as he demanded to know, "What has Yo-Han been ordering you to do, Ga-On?"
Ga-On's gaze remained steady, his resolve unshaken, as he replied, "Yo-Han's actions have been driven by a quest for justice, sir. He's been seeking to uncover corruption and bring those responsible to account."
Justice Min's determination shone through as he leaned forward, his eyes steely with resolve. "I will uncover what Yo-Han is up to," he declared, his voice unwavering. The pursuit of truth and justice had become a personal mission, and he was prepared to delve deep into the mystery surrounding Yo-Han's actions.
Justice Min's anger was palpable as he continued to press Ga-On for answers, his voice laced with frustration and concern for the implications of their actions.
However, before the conversation could progress further, the office door swung open, and Yo-Han entered. A chill descended as Yo-Han warned, "Be careful, Justice Min. If you dig too deep, Ga-On will be implicated too. After all, what we've been involved in can be considered a crime."
Ga-On's heart raced as he watched Yo-Han walk into the office. His presence had been sorely missed, and the longing in his eyes was clear. Soo-Hyun, however, did not like the way Ga-On was looking at Yo-Han and sighed, a hint of frustration in her expression.
"You see, Justice Min, you were the first to put Ga-On in a dangerous situation by sending him to me," he explained calmly. "And in my world, justice is often a matter of choice, not inherent morality."
The accusation struck a chord with Justice Min, and his frustration boiled over. "Is what you're doing truly justice, Yo-Han?" he demanded, his voice rising. "Or is it merely a convenient guise to justify your actions?"
Ga-On and Yo-Han exchanged a meaningful glance, their eyes locking for a moment that conveyed a shared understanding. It was a silent acknowledgment of the complex web of choices and consequences they had woven together.
Yo-Han's response was measured and reflective. "I've never considered myself just," he admitted. "I merely made a choice—one that I believed would make a difference."
He cast a meaningful look at Ga-On and then turned to address Justice Min. "Ga-On has also made his choice," Yo-Han stated firmly, "and it's up to him what he does next."
With determined steps, Yo-Han headed towards the door, but Justice Min's words stopped him in his tracks, "You can only stare into the abyss for so long before it starts to change you, Yo-Han. Your actions, though well-intentioned, might be leading us down a path we can't return from. You may believe you're saving the world, but you might be unintentionally ruining it."
Yo-Han turned around, a sly smirk playing on his lips, as he corrected Justice Min, "I am the abyss."
Yo-Han eyes briefly met Ga-On's, and in that fleeting moment, there was a palpable longing, a desire that hung in the air as if he wanted to kiss him badly. Soo-Hyun, once again irritated by the exchanged glances, sighed audibly.
