One.
You meet her for the first time. And from the second you see her you know in your heart you won't ever forget those striking eyes and the way they lingered a moment too long on yours, and you'll swear she's seen your soul. And then she'll laugh, and that's when you'll know you're in trouble. You'll spend the next few weeks doing anything you can to make her laugh so you can hear it again. You'll wish you could have it playing on repeat because God knows it's better than your favorite song.
Two.
She'll be sitting in your car singing along to every song she knows, unashamed and unembarrassed. You'll swear it's like hearing an angel, and maybe she is. You won't think twice about telling her how you feel, because how wrong could something that feels so right be? It's her birthday, and you'll be dropping her off way later than you should be, but you tend to lose track of time when her lips are on yours, and you'll think you're in heaven. You just about burst at the seams when she whispers those three little words that have such a big meaning.
Three.
She meets the family, and you've never seen them so in love either. They comment on how happy you look, and how they've never seen you smile so big or laugh so hard. She holds up conversations with aunts and uncles and grandparents, never faltering, and never intimidated. You'll wonder how you ever got so lucky, to find a girl ready to take on the world with you.
Four.
You're on vacation, hiking some of the prettiest views you've ever seen, in a small town off the coast. But the prettiest view of all is her. You'll grab dinner and take a walk along the boardwalk, snapping pictures of her everywhere she goes even though she hates it- you know she'll be thankful for them later. She's smiling, and laughing, and you can't help but be amazed by how beautiful she is. She'll convince you to jump off cliffs into waterfalls, and make you go before her even though it was her idea in the first place. She'll laugh at you when you slip down the trail, but will always be the first one by your side encouraging you to get up and to keep going, because she believes in you.
Five.
You'll show up at her house after a fight and she's crying. She didn't know you were coming over, but you surprised her when you climbed in bed next to her. You put the picture of the two of you down on her side table and pull her into your arms. There is no greater pain than seeing her break. You hold her until the storm passes, and even long after because this love is not something to be taken for granted. You want her to know that you will always be there to put the pieces back together no matter how many times she falls apart.
Six.
You think about Faith. And decide that loving her could never be a sin, and if it is than you'll look God straight in the eye and tell him you want no place in heaven because the way her hand fits perfectly in yours, the way her smile starts a fire in your soul, the way her lips felt against yours- that's all the heaven you'll ever need.
-The six moments you'll know it's her
