Nene had been cleaning the girl's bathroom for 20 minutes, spending the whole time complaining. "This is SOOO gross!" She whined. Hanako shrugged. "It's not my fault that someone drank too much punch and threw up in here." Nene shuddered. Apparently during yesterday's school dance an upper classman was dared to drink 16 cups of punch. It didn't go well. "The staff already cleaned it, all that's left are stains. Why are you making me scrub this?" She questioned. "Because" Hanako floated to her, hovering above her. "This is my boundary, and I really don't want it to have vomit stains." Nene grumbled and continued scrubbing. She kept scrubbing for a few minutes before pausing. "Hey, Hanako?" "Yes?" "Have you ever been to a school dance?" He paused and thought for a moment. "Nope, they were never really my thing" he explained. "What about you Yashiro?" She sighed. "Same as you." Hanako's eyes widened. "REALLY?!" His voice sounding more shocked than he intended. "What's so shocking about that? You aren't even into dances, so why would you care?" She questioned.
"You seem like the type of person who would enjoy dances, that's all." He answered. She was right, why should he care? She was just his assistant. Still, something about Yashiro missing out bothered him. Nene looked down at her shoes before responding. "You're right. I do want to go to a dance." She looked up to face Hanako. "But I want my first school dance to be with a boy who invited me. " Hanako looked at her confused. "That's stupid." He stated bluntly. He looked her in the eyes, "Yashiro, you should go to dances, because you want to. Not because some guy invited you. You only have so many school dances left. Besides, the boys at the schools seem like players." There was a look in his eye at the last part. Nene couldn't quite pin it down. Was it jealousy? No, why would Hanako be jealous? Regardless, he was right Nene didn't want to go through school without going to a single dance. Suddenly she began to regret missing out on all of those dances. She looked up at the ghost boy sitting on the windowsill, and she got an idea.
She walked over and stood in front of Hanako. "Dance with me." She demanded. "Wh- what?" He stuttered; his cheeks flushed. The usually smug boy was suddenly flustered. Nene was so close to him that he could practically feel her heartbeat. "You were right, I should go to dances. Regardless of if a boy invites me or not. I missed the past dances and I wanna make them up." She explained, grabbing his hand and leading him to the rooftop.

Pressing play on the playlist of songs she had liked over the years, Nene sat down her phone on the floor and faced Hanako. She grabbed his hand and began to dance with him. It was undeniably awkward. What did she expect? After all, neither of them had ever even been to a dance. Still, it was fun. She looked into Hanako's eyes, and for the first time she noticed just how bright they were. It was as if there were flecks of real gold in them. The two of them slowly began to find a rhythm, the awkwardness now gone. Hanako spun Nene around, both of them were laughing. The sun had now set, leaving only the full moon to illuminate the sky. Nene's hair was almost glowing under moonlight. Hanako couldn't help but blush. He had always found her beautiful, but something about seeing her like this, made him realize just how beautiful he really thought she was. Suddenly, after there only being various pop songs, a slow dance song began to play. Hanako reached out his hand, and Nene took it. They began to slow dance. It was by no means graceful, but they didn't care. They were reaching the climax of the dance, when Nene tripped landing on top of Hanako. They both began blushing profusely. For some reason Nene didn't get up. Almost as if she was entranced by the boy she landed on. Hanako didn't seem to mind, infact he was just as transfixed on Nene as she was him. Nene began to open her mouth to apologize, snapping out of her trance. She was cut off before she could even make so much as a sound. Hanako's lips and hands were cold, and yet his touch felt warm. Her eyes slowly closed, and she wrapped an arm around his back. She felt like time itself had stopped, and they were the only two people in the world.
