ELARA was sitting at home texting back and forth with Her boyfriend Everett, Her mom was busy at work, her twin brother kept himself locked in his room, all of them unaware of what was happening to their friend Tara carpenter in the very moment.
Elara Turned around quickly when Wes rushed out of him room "EL!" Wes yelled as he rushed Into the living room "What?" Elara asked confused as Wes was staring down at his phone "Tara's been attacked, she's in the hospital." Wes said, Elaras smile dropped as her eyes widened "What do you mean?" Elara asked "She's been stabbed, By a creep in a Ghostface mask." Wes said, with those words Elara felt her heart sink to her stomach "Oh god." Elara said.
"moms on her way home we aren't allowed to leave until tommorow morning for school, But I really want to go check on Tara." Wes said "I need to Call Everett, I'm worried about him and Dewey." Elara said as she rushed to her took dialing Everett's number.
Elara paced around her room holding her breathe while she waited for Everett to answer the phone "Hello?" Everett said He sounded half asleep, Elara let a relieved breathe out "Elara? What's wrong?" Everett asked "Taras been attacked, I'll explain it more tomorrow." Elara said "I.. I just wanted to make sure that you were okay." Elara said "Yeah I'm okay. Try to get some rest and I'll see you tommorow at school." Everett said.
Elara nodded "Okay, I love you." She said "I love you too." Everett said as Elara hung up the phone she took another shaky breathe, she knew nothing would be the same anymore, nothing would be normal, She thought it'd stopped, the last attacks were in 2011, that was eleven years ago, She was nine years old when the first attacks happened, Elara didn't want to believe it she wanted to stay in denial she wanted their lives to stay just the way they were, good, happy, normal. But Elara knew what wouldn't happen, she knew it wouldn't be that way, Everything was changing before she could even process it.
Elara heard her mom come into the door locking it behind her, as Elara left her room Wes stopped her in the hallway "are you okay El?" Wes asked "I know Tara's your best friend, I know you El, don't shut it down, don't be afraid to open up to me." Wes said as he looked into his sisters eyes. Elara smiled at Wes as she Nodded "I know Wes, I'm just trying to process what's going on, what's happening." Elara said.
"Listen to me El, No matter what happens You promise me you'll run, you'll survive, you'll live, even if everyone else dies You survive." Wes said, Elara's eyes met her brothers "what? NO! I'm not doing that, I will not let you die Wes!" Elara said "you will if it means you survive." Wes said as Judy walked up behind them "I need you both to promise me you'll take your stuff with you to school tommorow, With these attacks happening again I want you two safe." Judy said.
"We will mom." Wes said, Elara nodded as she headed to her room, once inside her room she shut the door, Wes's words repeating in her mind, Elara locked her door as she sat against it, she felt the panic attack coming on, she needed to sit down and calm herself but the thought of her brother dying broke her heart and terrified her, Elara knew it wasn't likely to happen but still she didn't want to lose him, she couldn't lose anyone.
Elara Laid in her bed and finally fell asleep the next morning she awoke for school, she got up and quickly got changed grabbing her bag and half of her hair up And left the rest of her curly blonde hair down, She walked out of her room and met Wes in the hallway "here goes nothing, resuming normal life like nothings happening like everything's normal." Elara said sighing as her and Wes grabbed their Tasers and Headed out of the house.
The two of them made it to school, And they met their friend group at the picnic tables after class, But when Elara didn't see Everett at first she began to panic "El?" Wes asked when he noticed his sister panicking "what is it?" Wes asked "Where's Everett?" Elara asked frantically her eyes meeting her brothers "right here." Elara heard a voice behind her, it was Everett's voice, Elara took a deep breathe as she turned around, A breathe of relief escaping her lips as she ran into his arms.
Everett wrapped his arms around her "Hey it's okay. calm down, I'm okay, so is my dad nothing happened." Everett said, Elara Pulled from the hug and met Everett's eyes "look this isn't easy for me." Elara said "I know baby I know." Everett said as he hugged her again, they both sat down on the picnic tables with their friends when Wes pulled out his phone "Tara's awake." He said "let's go to the hospital." Wes said as he grabbed his things.
Elara And Everett grabbed their things as well and left with the group heading to the hospital to see Tara, Once they were there they Rushed to her room, shortly after they'd arrived So did Sam "Sam?" Elara asked when she saw Sam enter the room "Elara!" Sam said as she quickly rushed over to the girl hugging her tightly "thank you for calling me Wes." Sam said as she hugged him too "yeah of course thanks for coming." Wes said As Sam squatted next to Tara.
They all checked on Tara and then left letting Judy question Sam and Tara while they went to the Bar to play pool and hang out, While they're hanging out Vince Schneider made his way into the bar, Elara and Liv got uncomfortable with his Presence, Chad and Everett made their way over to Vince "Leave, No one wants you here." Chad said as Vince pulled a knife on him, Everett pulled Chad back as the bartender kicked Vince out as well as the teens.
Elara and Wes left heading home, Everett promised Elara he'd call her once he was home as they all went to their homes, Elara looked at Wes as they locked their house door behind them "Who the hell is doing this?" Elara asked "why attack Tara?" She asked "I have no idea El but I'm sure everything's going to be okay." Wes said, that's when Elara's phone went off as she pulled it out she gasped "Vince was killed outside the bar." Elara said, Wes looked at her, "it's far from over." Elara said terrified.
