ELARA looked at Everett as they all made their way to The Meeks- Martins house, Dewey was supposed to meet them there to help them figure out a plan, a safe way out of all of this, Bit Elara knew deep down there was no safe way it was just a matter of survival and skills.
As Elara walked into the house with Everett she sat on the couch beside Chad and Mindy, with Everett on her other side and Wes beside Everett, Amber sat in the chair alone as Sam and Richie walked in, with Dewey behind them.
Elara took a deep breathe as they started discussing their plan, Dewey went over all the rules but it seemed like every road was leading to Sam "Wait I know it isn't Sam, But how do we know it isn't Richie?" Elara said as she looked over at Richie "you think it's me?" Richie asked "I mean could be you." Elara said.
They kept discussing and Finally came up with a plan "so who's the bait?" Elara asked, Wes looked over at her afraid of the answer as Everett took Elara's hand "you." Mindy said "They seem to be after you and Sam and Tara the most right? And even though they haven't physically attacked you yet El, It's coming, you've gotten the calls and texts, what do you think comes next?" Mindy said.
Elara let out a shaky gasp as she met Mindy's eyes "that doesn't mean I should be the bait." Elara said the fear inside her growing "It's the perfect plan, plus we'll protect you." Chad said "I swear." He said as he held out his pinky, ever since they were kids him and Elara would pinky swear on their promises to seal them, they even did that when they dated their freshman year of high school because they knew they could never break their promise, except Chad broke his promise of never leaving her when he left her for Liv, but then Elara got with Everett and everything was fine until ghostface returned.
Elara got up and walked out of the house she needed a breathe of air, her thoughts running together, Wes and Everett got up to follow her "let me talk to her." Everett said to which Wes nodded and sat back down letting Everett follow Elara out the door.
Once outside Elara tried to calm herself down taking deep breaths, Her heart was racing and her hands were shaking, She was terrified, she was distraught, she was afraid, Her being the bait terrified her she didn't want to die, she wasn't ready.
Everett walked up behind Elara "Hey." He said as she turned to face him, he could see the fear in her eyes as he Wrapped his arms around her enveloping her in a hug "Breathe." Everett said as he held her tightly, Elara took a deep breathe as she felt her pulse slow down to normal, Everett always calmed her down.
Elara pulled from the hug meeting Everett's eyes "I don't like the idea of me being the bait, I mean just a year ago things were different, everything was different, it was better." Elara said sighing as she looked back into Everett's eyes "I hate that this killer is back because I'm terrified of what I would do for you,for everyone." Elara said as Everett pulled her in for another hug.
The two of them walked back into the house And Wes stopped Elara "are you okay?" Wes asked "yeah just needed some air, and to think." Elara said smiling, she didn't want her to worry so she concealed everything and hid it within, Why let other people worry about her? She wasn't worth them worrying about.
Elara sat back down as Dewey continued to talk, Then Sam got up and rushed out, getting into the car and leaving the house, Elara and Everett also left while Wes drove himself, Sam was obviously going to return to get Richie but Elara and Everett needed some time to themselves, Elara needed time with Everett so she didn't have to stress everything.
Everett drove Elara to his house, His dad wasn't home yet so they headed straight to his room "Are you sure you're okay?" Everett asked looking at Elara "yeah I think so, are you?" Elara asked meeting Everett's eyes "I am, I'm just glad I have you, I'm glad your safe and your okay, without you I'd be so lost, you are the best thing to ever happen to me." Everett said, Elara smiled as she leaned in to kiss him "I love you." Elara said.
"I love you too." Everett replied as his lips met Hers, and in that moment the world stopped, They were together and alone, She Felt safe like nothing else mattered, the killings didn't matter, nothing mattered but them in this moment right now, Elara was happy, happier than she's ever been, And she hoped this would last, She had Everett and that's all that mattered to her.
Everett took Elara home and once Elara got home she heard Wes and her mom talking "Mom she's with Everett she'll be home shortly."Elara heard Wes say as she walked into the door "Hey." Elara said "Where were you?" Judy said as she rushed to Elara "I was with Everett, I'm fine I promise." Elara said "I don't want you to be out that late. you have to be home by curfew." Judy said "My life can't just stop because of this!" Elara said "I'm not saying for your life to stop I just want you safe!" Judy said "I get that mom but still I have a life I need to live, I don't want to Just stop hanging out with my friends or my boyfriend." Elara said.
Judy sighed and nodded she didn't want her kids hurt but she couldn't just force them to not live a life, Elara went to her room and shut the door, she felt bad for fussing at her mom but she also had a life to live she couldn't just forget about everyone and shut everything down, she laid in her bed and fell asleep, unaware of the next days events would be, All she knew was it was her birthday, that's all that matters.
