.*+ introductions

After a very eventful day and Summer somehow pulling off getting a chance to surf, we finally head to the house Margot has rented out.

The team offered me a house, completely free from them, to stay in during the season until nationals, but Summer and her mom were staying till then anyway, and staying in a house on my own didn't sound nearly as fun as staying with my best friend.

The team let me know that it was always there if I changed my mind, apparently, it was a little cozy shack near the beach and the team's training facility, and after a car ride with Summer and her mother... I might change my mind and take them up on the offer.

"Respect, Margot. This is a legit party house." Summer called from where she walked into the house ahead of us.

My camera bag was over one should, one hand held my skateboard, and the other dragged my light blue suitcase behind me.

"Mm-hm. Everything else was booked out."

The house was beautiful, big. Probably too much room but it was really nice.

"I'm gonna pick out a room!" I called pulling my things behind me.

"Okay, sweetheart!" I hear Margot call from behind me as I keep walking.

I get to a room with wall-to-ceiling windows that look out over the backyard, and it has a big bed, I immediately go through the doorway.

Throwing my skateboard on the floor and putting my camera bag gently on the dresser I flopped onto the bed and honestly, I could sleep now.

Pulling myself off the bed with a groan and down the hall again, I walk right into the mother-daughter conversation.

"Well, it was still this millennium." Margot smiles before continuing. "Come on. Let's just have fun for the next couple of weeks."

"You mean, couple of months." Summer corrects.

"Well, that was when we thought you had a shot at Nationals, so..." Margot tried to explain and my heart sank a little.

One of the main reasons I put in for an internship here and not in New York was because Summer would be here. If she's not that's another year, where we spent months across the world from one another.

On top of that, if Summer leaves I won't have a place to stay right away or anyone I know here. Sure I know Summer's friends but I only met them a few hours ago, I've barely met them.

"Just make sure I know at least a week in advance if you guys are leaving early please, Margot. So I can ask the team to set up a place for me to stay." I remind her, and she smiles with a nod.

Margot and I have always gotten along, sometimes better than she and Summer did.

When me and Sum first started hanging out Margot was astatic, she hoped my love for photography would rub off on her daughter but it never did. So instead she showed me all the techniques and things she learned.

When she got back from trips we would sit down and she would show me all the pictures that were appropriate and share any knowledge she had gained. She was like my mentor.
