'No dating' rule

Mon's first day at Diversity.

After applying to 10 different companies and getting an interview with three of them, Mon's choice was obvious. The company Diversity led by Samanun Anuntrakul is known worldwide for setting the top trends on social media. She thought about joining their competition, Nita Creative and Event Exhibition, but something pulled her towards Diversity or should I say, someone.

Kornkamon Phetpailin has admired Sam since she was young. Now she has the chance to work with her side by side. Sam is not only the CEO of Diversity, but also the lead singer of the band Black Heart. Black Heart is one of the top girl bands in the Asian countries. Guess who's their number 1 fan?

Anyways, back to the story. Mon walked up the stairs with Yha by her side. Yha is known as Sam's right hand in the office. Whatever Sam needs, Yha gets.

-I saw in your profile that you're half Thai, and half British. Is that correct? Yha asked. Mon nodded excitedly.

-Yes. I'm British on my dad's side, but I moved around back and forth from Thailand to England so I'm familiar with both cultures.

-Excellent. We need to broaden our spectrum internationally, so you'll be a great asset. Yha patted her shoulder.

After the proper introductions, Mon sat down at her desk and started reading up on the latest company news. Other than the sound of the keyboards, you could hear the sounds of heels on the floor. Whispers filled the room.

-She's early. -I thought she had a concert last night and wouldn't come in today. -Everyone shush! She's here.

Mon was facing her computer monitor when she heard a couple of her coworkers starting to say good morning to someone.

-Good morning. Yha, I need you in my office in 15 minutes. Tell Aunt Mhee to prepare two black coffees for me. I need the extra caffeine today. Mon saw Yha nodding out of the corner of her eye.

-She must have arrived. Mon whispered to herself. She peeked over her monitor but only saw the back of Sam's head as she entered her office. Everyone breathed out simultaneously.

-At least she didn't yell today. -She must have a splitting headache after last night. A couple of people laughed and got back to work. A pile of documents was neatly placed on her desk.

-Hi, I'm Noi. I work in Human Resources. I need you to read and sign all of these by the end of the day. Mon nodded. -If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

-Thank you, Noi.

-Just a little reminder, I know you're probably not thinking about things like this since you just started working here, but there's a rule that Miss Sam has been enforcing for the past five years and if you break this rule, you might as well say goodbye to your job.

-I think you mentioned it in my interview. No dating amongst coworkers, right?

-Exactly. No matter how cute you find some of the guys and gals here, avoid breaking this rule as much as you can, okay? Mon nodded. Noi smiled and left as quickly as she came by.

Half of the shift was over. Mon felt sleepy after lunch, but she went into the kitchen to make some coffee to keep herself awake. When she got back to her desk, she saw an email notification on her computer. Once she opened it, she saw a general announcement.

'Good afternoon, everyone!

Tomorrow we will have our weekly meeting at 10:00 am to discuss new topics for our webpage. I expect bright and new ideas from each and every one of you. Remember to bring your questions and concerns pertaining to our last meeting. Please give them to Yha before 9:00 am so she can hand them to me and prepare a few minutes out of our meeting to answer your questions.
