Jacob reached over to his nightstand and turned off the alarm that woke him up. Then he checked the time, 6:00, it was 10:00 p.m. in Australia so he could probably text Alex.
Jayyyyyy: Hey, you up?
He sent the text then got up and went to the bathroom and brushed his teeth, quickly styles his hair. Then went back to my room and packed my bag, put on a pair of black skinny jeans, and old white shirt and a denim jacket and went to the kitchen to get breakfast. He left and started walking to the bus stop.
He hated riding the bus because he had to see everybody and he hated seeing them because they always stared, being the only gay person in a very small town was hard especially when you're 17. They stared because he was that guy that didn't sit with anyone on the bus because the only two non-homophobes at school didn't take the bus. He could just walk to school, of course it would take a lot longer and he would have to get up earlier. But if he walked he wouldn't have to see everybody.
Jacob had just finished putting everything into his locker and getting the books he needed for his classes before lunch, which were math, science, keyboarding, and exploratory technology (which his mom made me take).
Then as he was texting Alex he closed my locker and started walking away. As he turned around he accidentally bumped someone, he looked down and saw a blonde that was obviously very spoiled by what she was wearing. She had pink platforms on, and her hair looked like it has been dyed recently.
"Oh my god! Do you even look where your walking!" He knew it, it was Bree Morgan. Bree was the girl who everybody knew, she was the head cheerleader, dated some "cool" collage guy.
"I can't believe you! You just made me dump my coffee all over myself!" She screeched.
"I-I'm sorry," was all Jacob could say because he was afraid of being late to class. So he turned around and walked away even though his class was the other way. He just couldn't be around Bree. They used to be friends in elementary school, but then she traded Jacob in for being popular when he came out. She is also just an annoying spoiled brat.
He got to his class just before the bell rang and sat in a random seat in the middle. Then the teacher started taking roll and checking off names.
"Jaxob Bixenman...is there an Jacob Bixenman," the teacher asked before he snapped his head up realizing his name was being called.
"Here, I'm here Mr. Thompson." He said abruptly as a few people snickered.
He then checked off Jacob's name on his roll. So he just went back to gazing off into space and discreetly put his earbuds in and went throughout the day like this (and the rest of the week).
Jacob dropped his backpack on the floor by the door of his room and laid down on his bed. He had finally made it through the first week of school. Then he heard the front door open. He didn't know who it was because it was only 3:00 and Marley didn't get home from school until 4:00, and his mom didn't get off work until 5:30. So he walked out of his room cautiously to see who it was and he saw my mom and Marley waking in the door.
"What are you guys doing here?"
"I need to talk to both of you about something." Jacob's mom said with a sad look on her face.
They all sat down on the couch and got quiet for a second before she started talking.
"I got a promotion."
"That's awesome mom!" Jacob said with a smile.
"The promotion is in Australia." his mom said and they all went quiet again.
