Chapter 6: The Date (part 2)

She started to lead me into deep parts of the forest, so deep that you can't see the shops that we came from.

"C'mon..." She whispered to me.

"Okay, okay I'm going." I whispered back to her.

She looked at me funny, "Why are you whispering?" She again whispered.

I looked at her confusedly. "Because you were whispering so I thought that... that I should... whisper too?"

It didn't really make sense, nor was it funny, but it made her giggle. And I really liked that.

Soon our path started to get steeper as we got more down hill. Suddenly, she stopped.

When I looked around at the location she ha led me, I could completely understand why she wanted to show me it.

It was absolutely beautiful.

The trees didn't grow except all around us, kinda making a circle around us. If you were to lay down you'd be able to see the whole city in the distance. Marvelous.

Without words, we lied down and just basked in the glory of the view.

Until I, of course, went and ruined it.

I'm not quite sure what I was thinking. Maybe it was the silence that I assumed was awkward, or I was just nervous, but for some stupid reason, I had to go and say,

"Uhhhmm thi-this place is like, um, like super...good."

Not cool,
not beautiful,
not any smooth or romantic paraphrase.
Good.
I said fricken good.
To her favorite spot.
Great.

She was about to respond to my horrible compliment...when she went extremely still.

"Hade...get behind me." she demanded in this... this voice.

I had never heard this voice before.

And that scared me.

"Why-" I was cut off.

"Get. Behind. Me. Now." she growled.

"Whose there!" She spoke in a steel voice. "I know your there!"

Silence.

And then... a voice... spoke.

"Well, well, well... it seems I still can't hide from you now can I, Artemis."

The muscles I had been clinging onto on her back tensed.

"You." she spat maliciously. "How could you be... I thought we..we took care of you."

"Well I'm afraid not, my dear." he spoke.

"And it seems you found you mate," he appeared from the trees. "such a skinny little thing. Pity."

As soon as I saw him, I knew I'd never forget him. His long jagger scar across an eye. His pointy stature. But most of all, his eyes. They looked purely evil.

Artemis could feel my shaking and quickly covered my more.

"You will not hurt him!" She spoke.

"Oh relax, relax," he said in a slow manner. "I'm not going to hurt Him. You, however..."

My wolf growled at the thought of him hurting our mate.

"Well any way.. I just came to chat. Bye bye dear, see you soon." and with that he vanished.

"Artemis, what was-" I asked.

"Let's go. Now." she still spoke in her steel voice.

"But what was tha-" "NOW." she commanded.

And with that she turned and was off.
