"Come here, Apo! Stop bothering Barcode already! Tell me what you want. I will get it for you. Take my card."
I growled lowly at Apo as I watched him continue harassing poor Barcode, who was just starting to be flushed from all of the attention bestowed on him. I shook my head, going up to Apo and dragging him away. I watched as Barcode ran back to sit near Jeff again.
That poor boy was really the baby of our group. He was so quiet and shy, often just hanging with Jeff as they played an onscreen couple for a bit despite the real-life age difference between them. Barcode was only comfortable with Jeff, and they always had their private conversations, yakking away.
I gave Apo my bank card, who just grinned and went to get something for himself to eat and for the team, too. I watched as Tong and Perth were also chatting away as they got their makeup and hair done. I slipped on my jacket and was checking my hair when I heard a soft voice.
"P Mile.."
"Barcode! Yes, Nong. What is it?"
"Thank you for earlier. With P Apo.."
"It's ok. He's a good kid, but I know he can be a little loud. Are you done with your makeup and hair?"
"Yes P. I'm going to get my shots done and then go to school thereafter."
I nodded and watched Barcode head off to his shoot. He nailed it despite his shy personality. Once he was done, I saw him quickly grab his bag and head off towards the entrance. I was done with my shoot and went over to catch him before he left.
"Barcode!"
"Yes P?"
"Let me send you to school. It's on my way home, and you can have a bite in the car, too."
"You sure, P? You don't have to. I can take the train."
"All's good. Come on. Let me grab my jacket, and we can go."
I got my car and drove Barcode over. It was a quiet ride. He wasn't exactly the chattiest, and I was no Mr. Personality, either. I was more of an introvert and often kept quiet. Apo was the yin to my yang, and he was the one who hyped me up.
We reached the university, and Barcode climbed out. Before he left, he turned to look at me.
"Thank you, P, for the ride!"
I nodded and watched him go off, but he got stopped midway by some girls. They probably wanted his autograph, and I could see them brandishing out their notebooks and phones to take pictures. I could see that he was getting a little uncomfortable and was trying to reject politely, but it was not working. I sighed as I got out, walking over to them.
As soon as they saw me, they started screaming even more! Shit. Barcode looked at me confused. They all ran towards me. I signalled to him to go off before they realized he was missing. He waiied gratefully and ran off whilst I was accosted by a bunch of girls for like 20 minutes!
Damn, where's Apo when I needed him!
