Nines, a recently deviated android, is actually starting to get along with his grumpy partner. Although at first it was difficult to even be in the same building as Gavin, the pair were forced to cooperate as of Captain Fowlers orders. So, the gradually lessening time they spent bickering, the more they realised how well their personalities bounce off one another; Gavin being the outgoing, puzzle solver, and Nines being the quiet, evidence collector. As of late, the two detectives have been spending more time together working on cases outside of the precinct. However, since Nines doesn't own a residence, Gavin's apartment is the usual set up.
Their latest assignment is currently unsolved with case files strewn across Gavins kitchen and lounge, but Nines has been informed of a new lead.
Gavin is scouring through the same information that he's read maybe 25 times in the last 2 days with no clue on how to proceed, when there's a strong yet mechanical knock on his apartment door. He gets up sluggishly, rubbing his face with his palms and trudges to the front door, opening it lazily.
Nines is standing with feet perfectly aligned with his shoulders and one hand cupping the other behind his back.
"Hello, Detective Reed. I have a lead on our case from Captain Fowler."
Gavin's eyebrows furrow slightly with confusion.
"Okay? Why'd you come tell me? Go check it out, Tin can."
The smaller man motions to close the door but is stopped by a firm grip. Nines pushes the door back open with a tilted head.
"Fowler requested for you to accompany me to the location. Would that be okay?"
Gavin sighs and squeezes the bridge of his nose with his finger and thumb. He's exhausted and frustrated, but a new lead is promising so he cannot afford to feel left out if Nines finds anything useful.
"Fine, just- lemme put some actual clothes on. You can wait inside, I'll be 10 minutes, tops."
The android nods and steps inside, noticing how much of a mess Gavin has made of the case files. He internally elbows his partner in the ribcage; no wonder he can't find anything in here.
Nines finds his way to the couch and sits down, patiently placing his hands on his knees. He is, in fact, a deviant, however still performs android-like behaviours out of habit.
The robot detective takes in his environment; observing everything that has changed since the last time he was present. Fewer plates stacked in the kitchen sink, yet a noticeable amount of take-out containers can be seen in the trash, aswell as a number of different half-drank cups of coffee dotted around the whole apartment. Nines has come to realise that his partner does not care for self-management while working on a particularly stubborn case, so he tries not to bring it up in conversation to avoid conflict.
Approximately 7 minutes have passed when Gavin re-enters the lounge in his usual attire, topped off with his signature brown jacket.
"Alright, let's check this place out."

Gavin pulls up to the location Nines entered in the GPS; an abandoned warehouse on an overgrown piece of land in the middle of nowhere. The smaller detective leans forward to examine the building, pulling an odd expression.
"What the fuck is this place, Plastic?"
Nines copies Gavin to get a better look at the place.
"I'm not sure, Captain Fowler didn't give me much information. Just that the suspect may have been sighted here a few hours ago. Should we take a look inside?"
