An unexpected arrangement (On hold)

Elana Pov

"Mommy, Mommy! Wake up"
It's wonderful, isn't it, to wake up to two sweet little voices and two human beings jumping out at you? Can you feel the irony?   These two little demons are my 4-year-old childrens. 

"What's going on here?"
"We're going to be late for school"They tell me with a big smile on their faces.

I look at my alarm clock, which is unplugged, so I look at my phone and realize that it's 7.50 a.m. and they have class in 40 minutes.

"You unplugged my alarm clock? Damn, damn, damn! We're going to be late! Stop smiling ! It's not funny" I say to the twins, who are laughing at the fact that we'll be late if I don't hurry.

"Maybe we can stay home today" says Violette, trying to win me over. That child, I swear.

In some cases, you might think that Violette had been led into mischief by Christian, but I can assure you it's quite the opposite. Violette is a real brat, always the first to get into mischief, whereas Christian is quite calm, reserved and shy when he's not with his sister, of course, because I can assure you that when the two of them are together it's a real mess. Violette gets her temper from me, and Christian gets it from his father I suppose.

Ah their father, the twins were conceived during a one-night stand. The next day when I woke up, he was gone. The only thing I remember is that he had a butterfly-shaped birthmark on his right shoulder.

5 years ago

I was with my friends in our favorite coffee shop called "Coco's Coffee" when suddenly, I wanted to vomit . I got up and ran to the toilet to throw up. A few seconds later, I felt someone holding my hair so I wouldn't throw up on it.

"Elana, are you all right" asks Stella.

"No, I haven't been feeling well for a while now"

I see the girls looking at each other dubiously out of the corners of their eyes.

"What's going on?" I asked them.

"Elana, when were you supposed to have period?" asks Clara.

"I don't know, 3 weeks ago ?"

"Elana, you're never late on your period."

It's true Clara is right, I've never been late for my period. I'm starting to panic. What if I'm pregnant? How would I manage on my own without the father of my children to help me? I know I have the girls but my future baby will need a father figure.

"I think you should take a pregnancy test, you never know, that way you can be sure" says Flora.

We all look at each other, shaking our heads. We leave the café, not forgetting to pay for what we've eaten of course, and head for the nearest chemist to buy several pregnancy tests. Once we arrive at Stella's appartement, I go into the bathroom to take the 3 pregnancy tests.

"That's it, I've done them and now I have to wait 5 minutes."

5 minutes later ...

"I can't look at it can each one of you take a test an tell me what the result is ?"

"What but you peed on it, it's disgusting!" Say Clara with a disgusted face

"Clara! Just take it!" We were saying Flora, Stella and I

"Ok Ok I'll take it"

"Ok 3...2...1!"

"It's Positive !!! We're going to be aunties!" they said excitedly.
