It was a typical day at the agency, or at least as normal as you could get at an office of misfits preparing to fight an American sugar daddy. The tension was thick around the jumpy detectives, although they could always count on one person to be relaxed in a time of war.
"I'm boredddd, there's nothing to do," Dazai groaned as he flopped in a chair.
Around the agency office, the members looked over from their miscellaneous tasks, no doubt rolling their eyes at Dazai's usual antics.
"You could spend this time catching up on your work," Kunikida suggested from where he sorted through a messy pile, looking for the copy of the mission reports.
Dazai glanced over at Kunikida thoughtfully. "No."
From across the office, Atsushi could hear Kunikida's teeth audibly crack as he clenched his teeth. One quick glance around the office and Atsushi knew it was up to him to defuse the situation once again. Yosano had rolled her eyes at the whole interaction and went back to shining a disturbingly sharp-looking knife. Ranpo was occupying himself with some sweets and the Tanizaki siblings were, well actually Atsushi didn't really want to know what they were doing. With a sorrowful sign, Atsushi set down his book and inched over to where Dazai and Kunikida were arguing.
"Hey, why don't we all just find something else to do?" Atsushi timidly suggested, shrinking away a bit at Kunikida's glare. Dazai on the other hand lit up.
"That's such a great idea, my dear Atsushi, let's play a game!" Dazai promptly announced, completely ignoring the angered man who was about 3 seconds away from smacking his annoying ass upside the head.
"No matter how much I hate to admit it but a game would be a good idea," Yosano piped up, stabbing her knife into the desk. Kunikida turned his glare away from Dazai to Yosano in disbelief. "Look we're all on the edge waiting for The Guild to make their move, a game might relax us," she explained.
"True..." Kunikida mumbled, flipping open his notebook to no doubt reschedule his day.
"Yeah, a game sounds fun, anything to get these two to stop fighting," Atsushi mumbled the last bit under his breath grumpily. Honestly, he didn't sign up to be the mediator when he took this job.
"What are some good games?" Yosano questioned. Instinctively everybody looked over at the Tanizaki siblings who had paused from their activity to listen in on the conversation.
"Yeah you two used to be in school, you must know some good ones!" Dazai shouted, earning himself a whack on the head for volume.
"Uh, well the other kids used to always play truth or dare," Tankzaki mentioned, reminiscing his high school days with a grimace. He most definitely didn't miss school.
"Ooo I heard some kids talking about that in the cafe yesterday!" Atsushi butted in, the mention of a game curing his previous bitterness. "You play it like everybody asks each other truth or dare and they have to answer or do whatever the other tells them!"
"Sounds fun," Yosano commented with a particularly sadistic smile on her face. I regret this idea , Atsushi thought at the sight of her.
After a few minutes of nagging, arguing, and unsaid insults about people's moms the whole agency was seated in a half-assed circle in a corner of the agency. That is all except Koukya, who was out running errands, and Ranpo who claimed that he had better things to do than hearing about stuff he already knew.
"Uh, Tanizaki you start since it was your idea," suggested Atsushi who had somehow been dubbed the game overseer. He did not agree to this.
The redhead smiled sheepishly before looking around the room. "Kunikida, truth or dare?"
